We really need more of this at City, banners etc. Sky blue flares would look awesome but they prob dont do them. Cant beat a proper mad atmos at a footy match. Pisses me off a bit when I cant get a good seat and have sit surrounded by borin fookers that dont even sing.Like Iv said before, They should bring back large standin areas... Lol, I sometimes even stand up when watchin a game at home on tv!! Too much on edge to sit.

Me too mate!
I got thrown out of our house for standing up and banned for 3 games so I'm writing this from an old scout tent pitched in the garden!

They were my local team as a kid, good support for a div 4 team. It got really funny after they went broke (chairman on the fiddle) and reformed in the Ryman division 3. They were turning up at away games with 2 to 3 thousand supporters at places that were used to having one man and his dog watching them. It was a bit like City in div 3.

In fact, to add to the above, I still have fond memories of them going one up in a cup tie against the scum, complete with Law, Best and Charlton. They lost 3-1 in the end but it was great while it lasted.

You can, but I've heard they burn at a considerably higher temperature, making them pretty dangerous inside a ground.

In germany we had the "english way" of supporting your team for a long time. Casual looking guys, just wearing a scarf and always shouting for your team depending of what happend on the field.... This generation is now 10-20 years older, seating above the standing section and only gives their team 1-2x a game a shout.

10 yrs ago the italian ultra style came over here. Most of the guys of the first Ultra generation now also have seats next to the supporter section. The people now on the helm are their own section inbetween the Bremen Supporters, always doing their thing on themselves, singing boring songs all the times without looking what the rest of the stand wants to sing (or even looking on the field- )and it came to a big split inside the Bremen supporter scene as both side claimed to be "the" best supporters of the team ....

So, the optical effect of Ultras is very good for football, but be aware of what could happen between the different groups of fans....

Some examples of so called "choreos" of german ultras in 2009:
