Kompany - 1st team or squad player

On his way back from injury. Quality player and still only 24!

Is Kompany in your 1st team or on the bench?

Centre Half or Midfield?

First team. Probably defence.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

They are all squad players because it's all about squad.

How good was he last night, from the radio it sounded like he was far more "solid" than Lescott? I remain of the view that our strongest defence is probably Lescott (LB) Kompany (CB) Toure (CB) and Zabletta (RB) with Onuha backup at CB and Bridge and Micah at FB.
I'd like to see us try that line-up against Birmingham if they are all fit
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

I'm just happy that i now support a team where we have such quality choices, i'll leave it up to the manager to pick the best of a good bunch. If anyone has a dip in form then we have replacements that are more than capable of keeping them out of the team for a long time.

At the moment on the bench. Still not match fit and it showed a little last night, but his quality was obvious. As he is such a good passer, I would guess he will eventually figure in midfield, only helping in defence when required. He will be slotting into NDJ's place soon when he serves his ban for yellows. Lescott is a better defensive player than Vinnie and you will agree when he comes back to his best, just as Bridge is a better LB than Lescott as he is more adventurous. RB remains the problem area, Zabba streets ahead of Richards, but can be reckless with his challenges, maybe Maicon in January although he is not the best defensive player you have ever seen, a lot quicker than our two.

Nedum played many time at RB and he was always good, also going forward. He can be the solution and he also gets into
the starting 11 which he definitely deserves.

No no no no Nedum isnt even a quarter of the player he is when playing CB, RB is NOT Nedums position.

Kompany's debut was awesome, he barely put a foot wrong, I think he needs to be in the 11, whether its CB or DM, its basically a DM battle with DeJOng

Kompo can play RB actually. Played there for Anderlecht sometimes, but then he wasn't as big. More lanky & athletic, now he's massive and maybe less agile. Might be worth trying out though?
