Well in fact I'm already here, arrived in Dubai this morning. Going to try and figure out all the logistics for Weds/Thurs in AD tomorrow.
Anyone know what time the BBQ is set for on Weds? I'm thinking it was 9pm but not at all certain!

There was quite thick fog in Dubai yesterday, the plane had to circle for a bout 40 mins before we got to land, still plenty hot though and cleared as the day passed. AD is obviously far enough away to not have the exact same weather as here but I'll be shocked and stunned if the weather isn't dry and HOT for Thursday :o)

Just had a look at the OS. The only senior players in the party are Nedum, Ireland, Zabba, Silvinho, Garrido and Benjani ! A bit dissappointing that we'll not see the big names althought Robbie is supposed to be in AD but is not expected to play in the match.
What about Richards, is he in the England Under 21's.

Irblinx mate it will be a 20c during the game. That's perfect I suppose.
Even 25c to 30c during the day is good (to us haha). But you are right, the most important thing is humidity level and I think its getting better and it should be alright by now. I liked the weather when i was there 10 days ago.
Next month is part of heaven. It goes from 10c to 25c. I'm glad I'll be there the most of December.

I was thinking about starting a poll on how many city supporters are going to be jailed this week after reading the official restrictions! I can see a few getting into trouble for sure.
Abu Dhabi and the UAE are moderate and progressive Muslim states and many non-Muslim beliefs and ways of life are tolerated and accepted. However, there are some strict rules of which every visitor should be aware.
Alcohol is served to non-Muslims in all major hotels and licenced restaurants, but public drunkenness and drinking and driving are not tolerated. The latter is a serious offence, with zero tolerance for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
There is also no tolerance for drug use, and visitors may face long prison sentences if apprehended with any drugs, however small the quantity.
The Ministry of Health’s Drug Control Department publishes lists of restricted drugs and medications that may otherwise be prescribed in travellers’ home countries, so travellers must take special care to ensure that their medications or other substances are not restricted before travelling.
Visitors to Abu Dhabi should avoid photographing women in general, and particularly local women, without their permission. It is always courteous to ask before photographing people. There are few other restrictions on photography in the emirate – only military, government and airport installations are not allowed to be photographed.
All public shows of affection between adults are technically illegal in the United Arab Emirates; this applies to visitors as well as locals. Hand-holding and kissing are not permitted and can cause offence to locals.

I dont think anyone will be in trouble.
I dont think anyone will be using drugs!
I dont think anyone will need to drink in public!
Hand holding is a no offence whatsoever!

As long as no-one is stupid and inists on boozing in public I can't see there being a big problem.
Having said that my girlfriend did feel uncomfortable today having worn the wrong dress out (flagrantly flouting her bare shoulders!) around Dubai.

Just "chillin" at the Atlantis water park today. I don't think I'll be bothering to come back in the hot months AD, it's great now but those extra 10-20 degrees would be a horror to a Manc lad I reckon :o)

You can handle it hotter than 44-54 degrees? Have you had your internal organs transplanted out in favour of an air con unit?
