I dont think there is a crisis, just easy points dropped through silly defensive errors and switching off. Another way to look at it would be had we taken 3 points off wigan, fulham and burnley, we would be above Utd and Arsenal with a game in hand.

Bit we are not and there is a problem with our defence once again.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Its not that we've drawn five games on the bounce that is the problem, its who we have drawn against . Apart from Villa , they are all dross.

although Fulham beat us at ours the last 2 seasons and the our recent record at Wigan is W 0 D 1 L 3 F 12 A 6. But they're dross.

Yeah, but we probably would have taken a draw against Arsenal... you can't say which points are 'bankers' each season. Fact is, we're in a bad run of form and it has to end asap... the difference is, this season, there's no reason to fear going to Anfield with our team. If we won there, all of a sudden there wouldn't be a crisis.

Sometimes I think the media play a big part in how folk think about the club... take Liverpool for instance - they were DEFINITELY out of the title race and the club in turmoil... then they beat United and the title race is back on... then they lose to Fulham and the season's over again...

It is strange to think that between them, the top four teams have already lost 12 games. It bears all the signs of a really tight premier league season... if we're in crisis, then so are the other top teams.

Differnce between the scum and us is they already lost their points to chelski which we are still to do before Jan as I honestly can't see us stopping them right now. So add another 3 points to that.

You don't know whats gonna happen in football, as we have already learned, so why presume we'll lose to Chelsea? Wigan might have presumed the same, yet they are supposedly 'dross' and they beat them. Villa beat them too.

Where was the crystal ball before the top four teams lost 12 games between them and its early November now?

Why does everyone think we're the only ones having a strange or indifferent season so far?

and Fulham were champions of the third division when we only made the play offs so we have no right to beat them at all.

Honestly Alex, constantly comparing our results now to our past underachievements isn't a substitute for a proper analysis of where we actually are and where we need to be.

that's the trouble.
My benchmark for the progress of my team is my team's past performance.
Every time we improve I am happy.
Others seem to have a starting point of the European Champions and everything less is failure and causes misery.
I'd rather be me

I wish I could be simple like you Alex ;o) But I'm afraid I'd have to factor changes in the relative strength of our opposition from season to season as well. Otherwise I'd be using the Wugan result to assert that we'd obviously gone badly backwards since beating Wigan in the play off semifinal...

what formula would you use?

A + B = C
(where A = Manchester City, B = £200 million and C = Barcelona)

or

A = B - C

(where A = Progress, B = City's current performance, C = City's recent past performance)

What is the club's stated aim for this season?

a) Chumps League
b) 5th
c) 6th

What are the fans stated aim for this season?

a) Chumps League
b) 5th
c) 6th

The difference is that the club have only stated that for season 09/10 their aim is to finish in the top 6, forget what some people think the club is aiming for.

That stated target was
a) before the penny dropped that Platini was serious about stopping clubs spending their owner's money
x) before the statement that we'd brought forward several transfer windows worth of spending ahead of schedule
and z) before the arrival of £200,000,000.00 worth of new players

If anything other than 4th is the aim then they aren't serious about the ten year plan. I think they are serious and that they therefore will want to do their utmost to break the top 4 this season. You clearly do not?

I disagree even the rag fans I talk to think Chelski have got this season wrapped up.
