The problem we as a club face is a simple one!
In any walk of life when you look up to and respect the man you ultimately work for (and i include the day to day coaches in this analagy) more often than not, you raise your game and turn in a better than average performance which leads to consistant overacheivement. If you view your bosses in a different, more negative manner and don't have complete faith in them, that respect will never be present and performances dip. Once this trend sets in with those who are seen as senior or proven performers the house of cards syndrome is inevitable!
We have a situation where very good players are not being enthuased by those above them and when this happens it goes throgh the ranks like a dose of salts!
Good players don't become bad ones overnight!
Look at your own work situations and if you currently work for a tosser you have no respect for mark your performance from 9 to 5 out of 10!
Then cast your minds back to when you worked for a bloke that taught you, enthaused you and encouraged you ( also known to have the technical know-how) and someone you liked and admired and then rate your performance out of 10!
The simple answer is that the players we have DON'T respect Mark Hughes and his training staff and if this is the case we will always underacheive with this man at the helm!
I want a winner as a manager who will bring in a winning training regeime, in fact a man that with inspire not only the player but everyone from the tea lady to the exec chairman! Mark Hughes and his croniies are not the real deal!
The wins against Chelsea and Arse subs were borne out of the PLAYERS personal pride to beat them NOT the manager or his aides football acumen!!
