He should be stopped going for international football! out for two weeks....
http://www.football365.com/story/0,1703 ... 62,00.htmlManchester City winger Martin Petrov has been ruled out for up to a fortnight after sustaining a knee injury on international duty.
The 30-year-old, who has scored three goals for his club this season, was with Bulgaria preparing for friendly matches when the problem occurred.
According to City, Petrov has a slight sprain of the inner ligament in the left knee.
He has returned to the club's Carrington training ground where he is undergoing rehabilitation work.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is prob gonna play a part in Brazils next game. TBH who cares. Bellers is playing well there and I dont believe for a second that Robinho is at city for the long haul. Barca can have him.

Why? I want players playing for city who are committed to the cause. I seriously doubt Robinho is. I think given half a chance he would walk to Catalonia himself. I guarantee you he wont be with us next August. And to get back on topic I think Petrov is more effective down our left anyway.

not that barking mad, I kind of agree. I only want players who want to play for us. If Robbie says he is here to give city 100% then thats ok with me, everything he has spouted as wanting, is now being done, so he should now produce the goods. I want him on that pitch playing for us with all his heart, but if his heart is eslewhere then he must go. He can still put in some stunning displays IMO, look at the tranny, he didnt want to be at the rags but played fantastic.

I know what both you and WW are saying here and I agree that if people's hearts aren't committed to the City cause then ultimately we should ship them out and cash in on them.
However, we are in an incredibly strong position vis a vis Robinho.
1 - We don't need the money and could afford to "let him rot in the reserves" and take a big loss on him if we really wanted to (I'm not saying at all that we should countenance doing this but we could)
2 - I'm loathe to "let Barca have" any of our top talent. I am still fucked off with them pissing around with that bonus malarky with Eto'o and I think we need to be robust in our dealings with them
but my main point is
3 - It's a World Cup year, Robinho needs to be playing and needs to be in good form. He's a shoo in for the squad but only if he's showcasing his best. If that means that he has a cracking back end of the season, helps us claim a top 4 CL berth and we go our separate ways in the summer (with us in a strong position to attract a Ribery, Fabiano, whoever) then so be it.
But now is not the time to give up on Robinho, even if his heart (at the end of the season) is leading him elsewhere

I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT THE BRASILIAN PLAYERS WILL NOT "RETIRE" OR CRY AWAY FROM INTERNATIONALS LIKE THE ENGLISH PLAYERS HAVE DONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO IN THE FUTURE.
BRASILIAN PLAYERS ARE MORE LOYAL IMO AND SEE PLAYING FOR THEIR NATIONAL SIDE AS THE ULTIMATE (QUITE CORRECTLY) HONOUR THAT THEY CAN RECEIVE.
ENGLISH PLAYERS RETIRE AT AN EARELY AGE OR CRY AWAY FOR WHATEVER REASON RATHER THAN PLAY A FRIENDLY OR "MEANINGLESS" GAME FOR THEIR COUNTRY.
I DO NOT THINK ROBHINO IS DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS CITY - HE JUST LOVES TO PLAY FOR HIS COUNTRY AND WILL DO WHENEVER HE CAN.
I DONT THINK HE SHOULD BE SLAGGED OFF FOR WANTING TO DO WHAT ANY BRASILIAN WOULD WANT TO DO.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Tranny is in a different league to everybody Robinho included. Robbie is a fab player but has a Brazilian temprament.... I dont see the same fire in him that tranny has. I dont think Hughes has to much faith in him either. I think Elano going will have had a big effect on him as well.
Hopefully I am wrong and he gets his head down and works but that is not usually the Brazilian way. And as I have said before its not like we are struggling for quality on our left without him.
If we can get our hands on Yaya as a swap I would take it tomorrow.

We are now in a position where we have top players that will only leave us to go to our soon to be rivals, in either England or abroad. It shows how far we have come. I agree that we could see the best of Robbie in 2010

Good point mate...
I certainly don't want to see him go but if he's made his mind up then what can you do? - say goodbye move on and then slam Barc in the CL final and give him some stick! :-)
I wish there was a way to know you are in the good old days....before you've actually left them...

Agree with the point on rivals Bob and i know we have to be realistic in how we deal with them and accept that sometimes we will have to do deals we don't really want to
But I think we need to (and am sure we will be) strong in our resolution to transact on our own terms (both in terms of price and timing) insofar as is possible. Tranny to Madrid is a prime example of what I'd hope we would do with Robinho if he is intent on going to Barca and they want him badly. Agree to the transaction if we must, but post season and at a good price....or maybe contingent on us bringing someone in first etc etc

Neither do I. I dont have a problem with him playing for Brazil or even if he prioritises it. I have a bit of a problem with some of the statements he makes in interviews about it being a dream to play for another club etc though.

I agree in principle with all of this but have concerns about him performing badly or unsettling our other players if his heart is not in it.

Petrov wouldn't be playing for City though would he????......as he was signed by a previous manager and even when he has turned in Man of the Match performances and scored goals, he has not got into the team the following game.

I'm so sick of Petrov being injured. He is such an excitin play yet alls he seems to do is get injured. I was so chuffed when he made it back from his last big injury because I'm sure like many others I looked at his age and history and thought the worst. It's lookin like shitty little injuries are gonna keep hittin him and will probably force him to call it a day sometime soon.
Lets hope not coz he is a great player to watch.
