What can I say,it wasn't easy to see quite as much as before but the steps I took along were just big enough. Sad or what!
The covered fencing around the undersoil pitch covers two sides so far and I have no idea whether it is planned to go all around on all pitches. A security guy came over and came out with the classic line " I only work here" but he did suggest it probably will be put around other pitches as well. Have to wait and see for that.

Got a wave from Eddie when he disappeared at the start and although I asked the security guy to tell Bowen to get himself over for a chat that didn't happen. I may be wrong but I felt he would have been a bit embarrassed not knowing what to say. Anyway they did some warm up stuff which we could see ( we being myself and the other nutter, NMT from BlueMoon) and the missing players were NDJ,Given,Micah,Toure,RSC,Petrov. Pretty well as expected as they either played last night or are injured. ( not sure re Micah but he did play Tuesday)

Really meaningfull football training was difficult today as the wind was so strong. Stevie tried one shot on the edge of the D which he got underneath and instead of going high over the bar it turned around and went high over his shoulder and landed a good 30 or 40 yards behind him. Brought back memories of old school games or Sunday morning stuff. Any thoughts of cross field balls to switch the play had to be forgotten.

Various things were worked on all about team play and ball retention but one spell in particular was focussed on the scenario that one team was a goal up with 3 minutes to play. I wonder why! But it did get them being even more aware of ball retention , slowing the game down and team shape. The play was regularly stopped to emphasise points with all 3 Bowen ,Hughes and Niedzvieki getting heavily involved.

The final phase of the training was 7 a side on a 1/3 pitch with full size nets. Fast and frantic stuff in matches lasting 3 minutes. Ade was well pleased when the final whistle went and his team won! Lescott looked good front and back and it was great see Robbi back in full training. One nice dummy to the keeper in a one on one so he could basically walk the ball in.Probabaly not ready for a game still but looking ok.

I was hoping for a word with EN or MB but the latter went in at the end leaving EN working with the keepers for a while. I decided to leave and try again tomorrow. They might well be on the same pitch tomorrow giving the same viewing problems but they can't stay on it forever so we will see if they start work on areas elsewhere. One photographer did arrive and walked around to the rugby end of the full training area. That's about 200 yards + away from the pitch being used and he just got out his best zoom lens and took what he could.

When I got back to my car another photographer was packing his car up and there was another car parked with Liverpool stickers and scarf all over it! Didn't see who was in that car.

Haha good work doug. I wasn't expecting many more of these reports to be honest, but once again Doug you have surpassed youself!

Come on city stop dicking about and give doug a pass!

Perhaps Bowen and co were a tad embarassed and couldn't bring themselves to say anything to you...... hopefully Chris Nield will work his Magic.....

Doug's stepladder was a 2 step standard kitchen issue in a very fetching red colour, if you're going to buy him one it needs to be at least 4 steps and possibly larger because he's about 6/7 inches taller than me so i can borrow it too.

I agree though, DH is an absolute legend with his reports and whilst i get there every now and again due to work commitments, most of the time i copy across his reports. If anything can be done for him to get in it should be, i'm sure he has friends in higher places working for him already.
