Hughes Poll

Postby Slim » Sun Nov 29, 2009 9:32 am

Don't want a lengthy fucking diatribe on what you think, there is another thread for all that crap, don't even want replies on what your answer is, let's just leave it to the poll to do the talking. Sound fair?

Code: Select all
WW EDIT: poll edited to add the fence sitting option

I have also deleted all replies to enable this to purely be a poll only post, therefore any opinons in the hughes thread please.

Thanks
WW

I dont see the point in the 3rd option, if you are unsure than you just dont vote for the sake of voting, all the 3rd option is doing is dragging down the percentages so that it understates the majority opinion.

the opposite.
It will drag down the percentage of those who are say NO. No-one who voted "Yes" will now be saying "not yet"

And this is what you get for allowing your brother final word on your poll, maybe I should add this to the 'lessons learnt the hard way' thread.

A no for me, Stability is the key for the long term. Chaning for a "Big Name" manager guarantees short term success and that is all!!! We want long term success ala Scum for example!

Well that would be pretty good start. We need to walk before we can run.

Right now it seems Hughes is offering neither by the way. I find it hard to imagine what it is that he needs when he can't make squad assembled for 250m into a winning side having had year and a half to spend with them. There comes a time when you need to think whether you are backing the wrong horse..... short term or long.

I voted yes, but I doubt we will see change before end of the season. This season is quickly turning into pancake and I'm not sure whether we'd be able to attract top quality manager we need right now. Mancini is always available.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

and it took the Scum more than one attempt to find the right man for the job. The person they chose was someone with trophies already in the cabinet. The chances that Hughes is the right man were never that great and are now very remote.

This is a highly valid point, when people compare Hughes to taggart is laughable.

Taggart had a shagload of pots (as a manager) already in the cabinet.

Not with a club punching above as far above it's weight as Aberdeen were though? You can put different achievements into perspective. Sir Baconface at Aberdeen >>>> GMDT at Hoops by some way. Hard to put Hughes trophy wins into perspective...

I voted no for the simple reason the question is a cop out because there are no alternatives on offer.

Surley the poll should have been between a number of managers, instead of just "who wants to get Hughes the fuck out?".

Or ask..... "Who do you want to replace Hughes?"

Or viable choices should have been presented and the poll to be on named managers.

You're dead right mate, it is hard to put them into perspective. Shame he didn't manage in a shitty league "back in the good old days".

Then we could make direct comparissons.
