Improve the fitness of the first 11 PLEASE!

Just read MH's latest on the site about playing ade and toure through injuries. It pisses me off because this MUST be the reason why weve suffered a loss of form. I dont think Ive read a report all season of all our main players training a FULL week. Players like ade and toure seem to miss training all week then MH still picks them. I knew toure would play on saturday when it was clear he wasnt fully fit and I thought Ned should have started (or has he got a knock too?!)
Surely its gotta be something to do with the training we do. Ade is no crock. Bellamy, Tevez, Toure, Ade, Barry are all never fit and thats 50% of our first 11! No wonder were playing shit.
Would love to see Ade stepping up to the plate with his obsession with Arsenal.

Hughes strengthened the squad and said he was happy with what he had at the start of the season. Yet according to this he continues to play unfit players. Inexcusable -its not the training that needs sorting out, its the idiot that picks unfit players despite allegedly having a squad he was supposedly happy with to take into this season.
Fucking unbelievable - and more fool him for saying it, because now he just looks like a cunt for saying he has been playing unfit players as though he had no other options

I can understand Hughes worrying. At the end of the day he had to play Toure because against Hull Kompany or Onouha wouldnt have cut it. And up front, it must have been a nightmare for him to have had to choose 3 from Robinho, Tevez, RSC and Bellamy.
I wonder how we avoided defeat under such circumstances, fair play to Hughes for having done so well under such adverse circumstances

Playing unfit players is the worst you can do, unless it's completely unavoidable. It is bad for two reasons, you risk to make the injury worse, or if there isn't an injury but the player is unfit, you risk him getting one, and the player won't perform to his best, thus he won't be able to help the team to the best of his abilities and this might affect both the team result/performance and his own confidence if he playes badly and knows it.

eh? why not? Both are supposedly free from injury and just need game time, they are certainly good enough and it would've made especial sense with a QF against Arsenal looming to rest Toure.

I suspect his post was ironical.

I know you can't take too much notice of a dogging gobshite like Stan Collymore but he was saying that some City players like Bridge look to be carrying a bit of timber. Maybe Doug could shed some light on the actual physical stuff the players do outside on the training pitches.

What REALLY fucking pisses me off is that he is now trying to hint that our poor form is down to too thin squad. Well, when you have had 250 fucking million to spend, there are no excuses.
I'm going to join Carl in breathing exercises now.

Mark Hughe's excuses were one of the things that vexed me most last season, and I hope he won't start with it again now when the pressure is on. It's bad for morale if the squad constantly gets to hear (indirectly) that it's not good enough. For a manager it is much better to either shoulder some of the blame, or to, as Baconface, blame referees/weather/shirt colours/the FA.
It's also better to be straight, admitting that we're in a bad patch of ofrm, but that we're working on it.

I think you are right to ignore Collywobble on this one.But I agree with the rest that to play somebody who isn't fully fit , especially when they show they can't hack it at less than 100% fitness is a mistake. Add to that we have more than capable replacements and it just seems double crazy.
