Good piece of business if he pulls it off.good attacking player.usa all time top goalscorer and 64 in 121 games for la galaxy.i know its a dire league but hes very effective at international level.will be a useful player for evervon to have considering how thread bare their squad is at the moment.a shrewd move from Moyes i think but money must be tight at goodison even after the lesscot windfall

Cracking signing. Great for the karaoke, and just imagine if Kylie turns up!

Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

It was a good laugh last summer hearing Moyes say "Lescott is going no where" all summer only for him to sign for us and fuck there squad balance up, therefore causing them to have a shite start to the season. :)

It was good fun.

He's fooooookin shit. Couldn't even hack it in Germany, yeah sure he's great in the MLS but so were Freddy Adu, Jozy Altidore and a 43-year old Valderama and 86-year-old Marco Etchevarria. I've heard Darren Huckerby is a legend over there...

I watch the MLS every now and again, when the insomnia is at its worst, and he is probably one of the best players in it, not that thats saying anything. He's quick and not a bad finisher but I think he's far too light weight to do well in the Prem. I'm going for a fail and Everton to narrowly avoid relegation.

By my calculations if we finished 10th last season and we ruin one club who beat us a season from now on, we'll have the premiership before I'm 40.

If Everton get him, Landon Donovan would be a great signing that would give them a pure forward who is skilled on the ball, can shoot straight and is not terribly injury-prone. It is fine and dandy to cast aspersions upon the quality of MLS play, but Donovan's stats from the American national team warrant at least a second glance. He won't be the missing link that pulls Everton decisively away from the drop, but he could hardly hurt their cause.

He's a bit shit

and he's a hypocrite

Some of the 27-year-old’s gripes - that as captain Beckham should have supported his teammates more, got back from England duty quicker and shown more interest in the team - seem justified. However, his strongest words came in reaction to Beckham’s attempts to engineer a loan move to AC Milan:

“My sense is that David’s clearly frustrated, that he’s unhappy and, honestly, that he thinks it’s a joke.

“I also kind of feel [he has taken the team] for granted. I don’t see dedication or commitment to this team, and that’s troubling.”

“I can’t think of another guy where I’d say he wasn’t a good teammate, he didn’t give everything through all this, he didn’t still care. But with him I’d say no, he wasn’t committed.”

As Donovan himself went on loan to Bayern Munich during that MLS off season, it seems a bit hypocritical to slam Goldenballs for doing something remarkably similar. If the German club had shown an interest in extending the deal, would he really have turned them down?

that math can't possibly be right because of two factors:

1) promoted teams to consider, and
2) you don't know which teams you'd have to destroy season after season...and you'd need some statistical analysis to apply to predict how thoroughly our meddling would destroy them. Destroyed one season could mean nothing the season after.

i think if you were maybe 15 the maths of this approach to take the league by the time yr 40 could work, but i'm guessing yr more like 28 going on 15.

A better approach would be winning matches with quality players, etc.

cheers

i dont really like him, but he does score goals at the international level and in the MLS (which doesnt say that much)
he's got decent pace, but i dont see him doing that well in the EPL... not even sure how he will fit in that squad.
but the more american players we have on EPL teams, the better chance USA will have v. England next summer.
