Sad to see Mark and his team depart. Decent guys but didn't do enough.

Welcome to Roberto.....I hope he takes us where we want to go, and soon.

I have to say, this is the key bit of the statement for me
Mark Bowen, Eddie Niedzwiecki, Kevin Hitchcock and Glyn Hodges have also left the Club and further appointments will be announced in due course.

Good to see that Mancini will have a british assistant manager who knows the game inside out. Will be interesting to see who joins them in the next few weeks, but assume that they must have it all in place to have sacked all the coaches immediately.

Fantastic that the Sheikh has finally appointed his own man. The new era can now really begin.

Good riddence to Hughes , was never the man for the job.

Really wanted Jose , but full support behind Roberto.

Consider me a Mancini licker.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

He'll have to win me over.

I liked Hughes as a person, but ultimately I don't think he was up to it.

Manchester City Football Club can confirm the appointment, with immediate effect on a permanent contract, of Roberto Mancini and are also pleased to announce that Brian Kidd will join Roberto as assistant manager.

Exactly. Mune for Mune.

I've been pleasantly surprised by hughes. Always professional, english, lost 2 games. Attacking play. Great start early on....

Oh i cant be arsed...

Im more worried about the fact that its mid season and involves a whole load of change right before a busy xmas period with quite alot of our best and in form players being fans of hughes. I smell another sven esque situation.

Can someone tell me a little about the new manager.
Yes I know he has won the Italian league 3 times but what is his management style? How does he like his teams in general to play? How does he set up at home and away? Did he inherit a good squad at Inter? What is is record like in the transfer market? What about his man management? and anything else you can tell me.
City are coming to get you!

Agreed.

A clean slate here. Tough time for anyone to take over; a transfer window, three games over Christmas/New Year and the Carling Cup semi finals derbies to come.

Is this a joke? I was watching the game on bar and I'm on with me mobile. Official site seems to be down.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

We will all probably disagree to some extent at who should/shouldnt have been appointed, but ultimately we have got the change that many have been asking for, and all we can do is get behind the new manager from the outset.

He will get the same chance any manager gets and his progress will be based on results. The first Mancini out post will come if and when he cannot deliver what has been asked of him, is that unreasonable? Is that any different to the chance that Hughes got, or for that matter any other manager we have had historically?

No mate, Hughes clapped the fans, Toure was told at half time and Bowen confirmed it on SSN. Mancini was also at the ground.
