6 Month Contract For Mancini?

Postby King Kev » Mon Dec 21, 2009 7:01 pm

It will be interesting to see how much money to spend in January they give to a man with only 6 months to prove himself!!

I took it to mean a 6 month review. If he gets anywhere close to the 1.84 points per game that Hughes was set as a target then it won't be in doubt.

Is that pro Bob or anti-Bob.

Is this 6 month contract for real? I thought that was just a loanguage thing? Didn't he say "6 months and three years" which was later clarified to mean a 3 1/2 yr contract and not a 6 month deal with a 3 year option?

I don't think he was saying it was a 6 month review. I think he was trying to say it was 3 years + 6 months. I hope to christ they don't sack him even if he struggles a bit. Give someone a chance to do the job ffs. Let them build a team for a few years THEN if we don't win the league have a think about it.

Well when he was questioned about it again to clarify the matter, he definately said that if he reaches his goal after 6 months, then he would be ok for another 3 years. That to me means that he's got a 6 months contract rolling on depending on results.

a 6 month contract is crazy, I dont understand why we would do it unless it was mancini's idea, however, he would be mad to ask for just 6 months.

It must be 3 years + 6 months? Is there nothing on the OS? I will have a butchers

No 6 month contract mate, probably the only bit that originally got a bit mixed up in pigeon English. It was clarified to 3 years AND a half

Read my post above lads and if you can, get to listen to the replay cos he deffo said 6 months and if all goes to plan he'll get the three years on top. I know there was a slight communication problem but I'm sure that he said that.

Yep, he's got 6 months to get us into Champions League. It was plain to see.

He let that slip and then tried to correct it under instruction from Cook to say 3 years and 6 months (probably banging his hand on the table to get his attention) :-)

To be honest I wouldn't expect any less otherwise why sack Hughes? Mancini has to do something very special to make Khaldoon look good. Unfortunately nothing Mancini can do will ever make Cook look good though, he's beyond help.

Don't agree as I'm sure it was amended later on but lets hope it's not an issue anyway

Can you clarify what to clarigy is?

Incredibly good position for City to have negotiated themselves into

I have gone from being positive to massively positive about this "new appointment". We have minimal risk to be honest. If he doesn't meet the targets (that I think are appropriate....)Ie. Top 4....then he goes and we get a special replacement. He must fancy himself and I like the perception of managerial "swagger" that implies.

Come the fuck on Roberto, get those three extra years.

Win win
