I wondered is DH could find out for us today? I personally think not but you know what they say about smoke without fire.

Surely if this isnt true a certain paper should be issuing an apology?

Under the circumstances of what didn't happen at the weekend, It wouldn't suprise me if more people than just Bellers were dissappointed because of all the Shite that was being fired around.

Just took this from Chinners Bollox-

CRAIG BELLAMY'S Manchester City future looks bleak after he clashed with new boss Roberto Mancini - during his first training session! Mancini has caused uproar among City stars by insisting on DOUBLE training sessions and ordering players to stay in a hotel the night before HOME games. Yesterday he demanded 2½ hours hard graft from the entire squad when he took charge of his first workout. But the Italian was unaware that, because of a recurring knee problem, Bellamy was only expected to do light training. And after 90 minutes Bellamy "flipped" saying his knee simply could not take it and told Mancini he had to stop. Bellamy was allowed to walk out of the session along with skipper Kolo Toure, who complained of a back problem.

First training session means Monday which me and Doug were at and we muct have been there for more than 90 minutes when apparently he Flipped!! Well thats a load of crap then because he seemed his normal self. Except quieter! And was just getting on with what he needed to and i didnt see him or Kolo leaving. That might have been later on though.

I have a feeling this newspaper crap was made up from the photographers who were there on Monday and just saw him leaving.

You're forgetting that half the press were reporting that yesterday was his first training session, also as yesterday was really the first double session (and the fact that they actually stated "yesterday") I would expect that is actually when they meant.

Sven used to make the team join up the night before a home game. Keeping them together meant he could control their diet and time to bed. It was also meant to build the teams spirits. I was in the Hilton in Manchester the day before Bolton Played Man U at old trafford and the whole Bolton Squad were in the Hotel Lifts. I know it was an away game for them, but the players probably live closer to manchester than Bolton anyway, so I think this is normal practice at most clubs that all players meet up day before a game and head in together on the team coach

Can't give any concrete answers on whether Bellers has done anything or not. As Lewis said there was nothing apparent on the first day and he was out there again yesterday seemingly ok. I would imagine it is true though that his knee "problems" would need careful managing and 2 training sessions in a day if they were full on sessions might be taking a risk. If they push it it could rebound and involve lay offs that could be avoided.

Might be similar for RSC too. Blackburn didn't look after him with his knees and the problem was allowed to get worse than it should have been.

I don't like the sound of Toure with a back problem either. He is not the sort of player to manage well with slight knocks so I hope he shrugs it off 100%. As for hotels before games they start on Christmas day as I said!

I think it is well documented that players like Bellamy and RSC had special training arrangements with Hughes. In fact, I would assume this is why they like playing for him, and why he gets the best out of them.

However, Mancini might be the kind of guy who thinks a player who cannot handle a double training session is no good to me as a performer. He also might not like the idea of special treatment for individual players. He has that kind of reputation from his days in Italy. I can't see Bellamy staying with us long term...

Did the guy off Bluemoon stay for the duration yesterday? Any mention of a Bellers strop in his report?

sounds like if Bellamy is off we'll need to buy Villa to try and replace him, thought tbh i can't imagine Villa performing better than Bellamy has over the last 12 months, barring his injury record of course. That's not a joke.

cheers

Personally I'd agree with that approach. Team is a TEAM. No one should have special priviledges.

Hughes got the best out of Bellamy without a question with his approach but truth is Mancini would probably sacrifice one players individual good over team.

But how long term is "long term" Miyagi? Bellers has already stated that he expects to retire within the next two years. I can't see us letting him go before then end of this season, as he has been one of the consistent bright sparks, and is one of the few players who sets the tone for the game for others to feed off.

As for moving on after this summer, would he really put his contract in jeopardy? Where would he go?....Chelsea, Rags, Liverpool and Chelsea would all be out you's suspect, as would Everton (Liverpool fan), which really leaves Spurs and Villa and maybe Sunderland at a real push.

Antti,
I see a lot of differences regarding how you accept Mr mancini, as opposed to Hughes. Now that Mancicni imposes a double training session on a players dodgy knee...it's ok. When Hughes did similar with fully fit players, he was "BULYING HIS SLAVES".
Come on Antti...let's have a bit of equity here.

The double standards are pitiful.

Absolutely. I thought it was load of rubbish to let him fook off to Brazil last january.

We've got the individuals now. The big task is to mould them into team.

We are doing double sessions because he has only precious few days to try and get his message through to squad. Before both seasons he was in charge, Hughes had all summer. I don't think double sessions will be any sort of standard in future.
