May very well be true. Fantastic keeper he is! I think I've never seen a better shot stopper in my life.. And that's even without my blue-tinted glasses!
But have you ever seen him coming out of the line to catch a cross?
Have noticed this argument creeping in in the last few weeks as if people are desperate for some reason to find fault with him.
I saw him come off his line to collect crosses at least twice in yesterdays game alone, but he is only going to do it if he is near 100% of being able to get to the ball.
In goalkeeping terms, Shay is quite small which means that he probably can't come for as many crosses as say Cech, Van der Sar, Friedel etc. If he did, he would end up getting caught out on a regular basis and I am sure he has learnt this over the years. Therefore he needs to rely on his defenders defending crosses and set pieces properly which has not been happening, hopefully Mancini can sort this and the number of goals we concede will reduce significantly.
Shay is one the best goalkeepers in world football and in his 12 months with the club I could probably count the number of costly errors he has made on one finger.
