no way mate not with richards in the centre he just doesn't have the nouse. i am pretty worried about this because i don't know how we can make up a decent defence especially against the rags. even if we bring someone in before the game, you're looking at a baptism of fire... its just that one centre back position that worries me, maybe de jong????

I asked earlier, what about Gareth Barry, as a stop gap?
Zaba is certainly a better bet than Richards, but even he is guilty of rash and reckless tackles

Well, with Ned injured.....Lescott injured and Toure off too Africa who would your preffered back 4 be!?

Mine would be

Zab Richards Vinnie Sylvinho/Garrido

Slightly uneasy defence without a leader with 2 important ties againt U***d as well....

Do you have faith?!

I dont see why not

Look at Sven's defence - proof of what you can do with organisation, add that to our forward line today, and I think that with organisation we have every reason to be optimistic

I'd go with the OP's back 4.

But the thing is - he once did.

He has never been the brightest tool in the box, but he is a fucking good stopper. Lets get back to remembering that defenders are basically stoppers/spoilers, and that he is a good one.

well if you're going to put richards in there, one thing he will definitely need is a leader telling him where to stand, so many times i saw dunney not telling him where to be and getting caught out. back then he was so fast he could recover but he has actually lost pace with all the muscle gain. i just don't see who would help him out in the defence available. also, i love him at RB at the moment he is getting up the touchline really well and his crossing has been good, unfortunately we haven't had a target man to show that recently.

There's no other viable option than Micah at centre back imo. We'll just have to hope he has some of his better games.

A CB has to be the priority signing and asap.
De jong is not a centre back and must be played exactly where he has been against the rags and other January fixtures.
I don't know how long Ned is out for but without a someone who can win a ball in the air alongside Komps for the January fixtures I can see blackburn, everton, stoke etc. getting through and undoing all the recent progress we've made! With the current playing staff you have to play Micah!

If we don't sign anybody I expect it will be Richards and I expect him to be brilliant

We need cover mate in all positions.
I'm not advocating buying a CB and sticking him staight in against the rags but if Kompany gets a knock against boro we are really up shit creek and would have to look at untried youngsters.

Dead right. A team who's shite at home & couldn't beat the average paperboy's 11 is usually a sure fire certainty to knock City out of the FA Cup. It's almost a fucking tradition. Take no chances with this one City!

From all the noise were hearing I think it's safe to say that Cordoba will most likly be arriving in the early days of the window on a short-term contract. If Mancini rates him I have faith that he will do it in the Prem for a few months.

that was before Richards 'regressed'
And we had The Dunneymonster, back then
who our Top For rivals currently have! (:

That seems sense to me.
I don't follow european football and don't know a Cordoba from a pint pot but if the manager feels its sound I would go with that.

Indeed no harm on either side aswell mate if we give him a 6-month deal. He's played for Inter since 1999 and in that time has been tracked by the Rags and Real Madrid, so he obviously has something about him.

I know he's 33 mate but (and I'm trying to be frugal) If he costs 5 mill and wants to come .. i'm sure the owners would sanction this as a show of faith in mancini if he can just plug a gap if required in the short term.
