Thank you for coming back! Who the fucl was that lad who looked like you and played in your shirt for a while?
Imo he was great yesterday. Opinions?

Very good in past two games. And he is still carrying injury as well.
It was obvious he was suffering from some sort of mental block after Villa game. Probably just needed arm around him and few quiet words of encouragement. Barry seems like sensitive lad.

Yep, another fine performance from Barry. He was shocking recently, but last saturday he was mom for me and he came a close second to Tevez for me last night ( equal with Bellamy imo).

When you play football not only to defend anything - that was Hughesy way of intend this sport - you can do all your best.
Garreth isn't a defensive midfielderat all! He's a complete fantastic midfielder and Mancio immediately find the way to show him how a complete midfielder must play in a Top Four club!

Not sure why but he's imposing himself on games again. Looks back to his best.

I think the fact that De Jong has put in amazing performances of late allows barry to play the game he likes to play.

Renato I agree.
In hindsight, something just wasn't right with his previous instructions/interaction with DeJong. Mancini seems to have spotted that instantly, among other things.

He got zero votes for MOTM. Bet he'd get everone's vote for 2nd MOTM. Tevez was just so good, he gets most people's votes. Fair enough too.

I think he did, based mainly on an excellent 1st half. I gave it to Tevez again on saturday, he is just brilliant at the moment.

De Jong was amazing whilst Barry was playing shit too, NDJ is the epitome of the unsung hero.
I know it is going back a while but I'm 100% certain that Barry's first poor game was actually the one before Villa, at the time I thought it was just a blip but then he was dire against Villa and had never recovered. Whatever the reason for the return to form is let's hope that Mancini keeps an eye on it and ensures we don't see bad barry again.

That's unfair Renato. It's horses for courses, Hughes is pretty decent on a sharp right handed track with easy fences but completely unsuited to a stiff galloping track.

Thanks a lot for this new expression for me! Horses for courses was completely unknown before, but I believe I've understood the sense of what you writes here, mate! :)

Barry has been playing really well the last couple of games. The best part of his game is positioning and knowing when to make a run forward. The shape of the team has been better the last couple of games without the ball and this plays to Barry's strengths. He can defend, get the ball, make himself available in space and is a great partner for De Jong, who is a much better passer then I thought he was but still has a tendency to hold on to the ball too long if teammates don't quickly move into space near him. Will be eagerly watching their partnership improve as I think they will get a long run of games together and that can only be good for the team.

Barry will go on to be a city legend capello went on record saying his first name on team sheet just think he had a dip in form and was getting used to new team mates. One of our best signings so far
