With Stephen Ireland confirmed as an injury absentee for a fortnight, there are also several other fitness concerns in Roberto Mancini’s squad.

A troublesome ankle that has kept Shaun Wright-Phillips out of the Manager’s first two games in charge of the Blues remains a concern for the winger, while Roque Santa Cruz continues to have treatment on the calf strain that also forced him to miss out against Stoke and Wolves.

Nedum Onuoha remains on track to return from the calf problem that saw him sidelined for three to four weeks after the Sunderland game. Wayne Bridge, who suffered a knee ligament injury in the win over Chelsea at the start of the month, is also making good progress but will remain out of the reckoning until into the New Year.

Midfielder Ireland sustained a hamstring strain in Monday night’s win at Molineux and will be out for two weeks.

Judging by this Lescotts still going to out for around a month
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/17122009/ ... 61241.html

Problems mounted for Manchester City when the Premier League club said defender Joleon Lescott would be out of action for around six weeks after requiring knee surgery.

Lescott's injury, sustained in the 3-3 draw at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
England international Lescott suffered the injury when he kicked thin air at Bolton.

"His full-blooded airshot resulted in him hyper-extending his knee. His knee locked due to a floating piece of bone that came loose in the joint," the club said.

"Joleon had a 10-minute operation to remove the rogue chip of bone and will start his recovery programme in a couple of weeks after a precautionary delay for natural wear and tear."

Parrot owners, what is the worst injury you have ever recieved complements of your pet parrot? I know that many parrot owners allow their parots to perch on their shoulders and wind up with bites to the ears, nose mouth and sometimes even eye's. What is the worst injury you have ever recieved and how did it come about?
