So how much do you think we'll get for him? The tribunal is set for 14 January. Scored a couple against Watford so that might push up the fee a little.
I've not got a clue what the fee will be as there does not seem to be any structure to awarded fees. Its all a bit random, I hope it's above £5million though.

i think it will be between 5M and 6M.
A shame we lost him...i think he's going to be a fantastic striker for club and country if he keeps his head on straight.
Also: he's a cunt for leaving, and it's hard to root for him that's for sure, even from a neutral perspective. Karma's a bitch. He needs to sort that out.

Very much agreed. I like to catch games every now and again just to support former blues, but I just can't do it with him...

I liked the bit in Chinners Bollox about him being the best player in his own head.
Talented young English striker finally injury free (another classic from that article saying that Chelsea would use his limited appearances in last season against us!), should be £10m plus 50% of any sell on fee and a fine to Chelsea for tapping him up 2 years ago but we'll probably get fleeced down to £2m with poxy add ons dependent on future performance.

I confess that the 'the best player in his own head' was not a cut & paste jobbie.
Realistically I think we will be doing well to get £3mil for him. Tribunals always favor the 'buying' club imo

I'd guessed as much, you should have made that your landmark post!

I think we will get between 3 and 4 millions, but we should get more.

I dunno. Sturridge is far and away the biggest name to come through the tribunal system at the moment and Chelsea's name is complete garbage at the moment.
If there was ever a time for a huge award, it'd be now. He was offered huge money, had been subject to significant transfer interest before and clearly was approached earlier. They allow players buy out the remainder of their contract under certain circumstances because that's where their value it set. The value of Sturridge's new contract over 5 years is a reasonable estimate of his worth. If we offer more money to him, his tribunal value should be higher.
If he was offered £3m a year, even for a shorter contract (because he could expect a profitable extension for a shorter one) then the correct tribunal fee would be £15m. This is also a reasonable estimate of what we might have expected to sell him for (I think we might well have refused or even did refuse £10m).
A tribunal should be a last resort, pending agreement. It would be farcical to have a situation where the buying club always goes to tribunal on the basis that a lower award will always be given.
Pay up Chelsea.

I think they will weight it on appearances if that is possible

There doesn't appear to be an option on the poll for the amount we should be paying them for taking the egotistical little so-and-so off our hands.

I think we'll get about 5 mil. Him scoring at the weekend would have done us a favour. Cheers lad.

£1 - 2m - answered on the basis of what I THINK we will get rather than what we SHOULD get

I think we'll get between 6 and 7 million. Don't really care anymore tbh.
When will we find out?
