Would they actually be available for the first semi or would they have had to have been registered in time for the original date?

For example in our local league you have to be registered with your team 14 days before the original planned date of a semi final to be able to play in it.

according to last years carling cup rules the new basically had to be eligible for a league game i.e. signed up and approved by 12 noon on the last working day before the match which the club want the said new player to play in

the rule don't mention anything about postponement .......
