If we sign new players can they play in our next Carling Cup or FA Cup ties if they are not already cup-tied or is there any restrictions to players being signed the day before and then playing etc? Any thoughts..

as long as their registered in time they can play,
Vieira eg signs this week, could play in the first semi no prob.
unless bacon face complains then you never know.
the only way they cant play is if they have already played for another team in this seasons cup.

Hypothetical question here...........

Imagine Mancini signs Richard Dunne, could he play in the semi final of the Carling Cup?

Would say no, as Dunnie has already played for another team in this years competition ie Villa. however, European signings won't have. BTW are we signing Dunne back ?
