David White, Niall Quinn and Rosler in my teenage years. Later on would say Andy Morrison and The Goat. Current crop I really like NDJ but don't think I will ever love a City player like I loved The Goat!!

Yes. And I don't know why but I always thought Kit Symons was pretty cool.

I had a great affection for all the 86 Youth cup winning lads that came through but my first real hero was Dennis Tueart. I always had to be Dennis when we picked players on the playground!

I grew up loving Quinney and Keith Curle (!), then obviously Kinky but also his fellow Georgians Kakhaber Tskhadadze who was the captain of Georgia and a classy centre back and Murtaz Shelia, a no nonsense left sided centre back. Think they bith had their careers ended at City though which was a shame.

Yes! He was a Dunney type figure, no nonsense centre half but with zero pace and the turning circle of an oil tanker. Good lad though.

Andy Morrisson! What a legend, hard as nails, got us out of Division 3 almost single handedly, it meeant Royle could switch to 4-4-2 and we started the famous run that got us into the playoffs.

Sadly he's another player who had their career finished at City. THere's no justice.

Mine was Ian Brightwell. I thought he was vastly underrated and in the early 90's I remember he was a shoe in for the England Squad and there was talk of Leeds trying a double £3m bid for him and Quinn!

I loved his versatility and loyalty, and must admit I was sad when he went, I always thought he would stay with City forever. I must admit i thought they all would, White, Hinchcliffe, Lakey. Shame.

Honourable mention to Bish, i was delighted when he came back, and after an indifferent start was quite influential and even managed a few more games in the top flight with us.

Ahhh the nostalgia!

Kit Symons had one season when he was half-decent, then went piss poor. Bizarre. Could be something to do with having Curle alongside the first time.

Ha all the players from my youth! Brilliant, loved Brightwell as well, and Flitcroft, and Curle, but also Redmond, Coton, Beagrie and Terry Phelan. We also signed some shite, Gaudino, Ingebritsen, Groenendijk, Frontzeck to name a few.

Exactly this for me too. Loved David White. I used to get my old man to write the City score when they played at night and leave it next to my bed - so obviously once woke up to City 5 - Villa 1 (White 4 goals) and thought I was still dreaming. Awesome.

Then Kinky, as he was simply a genius.

I remember that match in the season review video - ""All White On The Night!"

Woah Gingery! Gaudino was a class act at city in the 20 games on loan he played. We couldn't afford to sign him permanently and he went back to Germany, he was a right dodgy character though. Absolutely bossed a game where we beat Liverpool. I think he was convicted for fraud for two years after at the end of the loan which might have had something to do with it.

Agree about Frontzeck, Groenendijk and Ingebritsen though. Gash.

How the hell did Frontzeck be one of the most coveted German defenders between 88-92 i will never know. I guess we had him in 96 when his legs were blatantly gone. Bit Like Immel. Makes me laugh when I see my Euro 88 album with them two in the West Germany team as first choice goalkeeper and left back, and a lot more hair!

mine was Paul Simpson. it was sealed when he came on as a sub and inspired the big comeback in the Full Members Cup Final vs. Chelsea.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.
