Decent top six player. Great player to have in the squad for England when the chips are down IMO.
But not for us...
And if this wasn't about him as a footballer, and about whether I'd ride him then I'd still have to say no.

Best player in the league, in his position I reckon. Having a fantastic season, just over-shadowing Dunney.

decent player, but would rather have Shauny. I prefer his direct style. Plus we have Weiss.
For some reason Milner has always reminded me of a good Lee Croft.

I actually wasn't that impressed with him in the U21 Euros in the summer in terms of quality (workrate was good) but he's been brilliant since. He's been playing a lot more in the middle of the park with Downing and Young on the wings and he's having by far the best season of his career. He's got a great engine and even when I thought he wasn't playing that well I remember in the summer they said that he ran 2.5km further than anyone else on the pitch.
I think he'd be a good addition to any squad; I don't think we will (or should) buy him because I'm not sure if he'd get in our first team right now, but if he'd come through our ranks I think he'd be a regular in our midfield.

Pretty good going forward and attracts the press attention for that. Not quite sure what happens when the other team has the ball though.
Shawzy my impression of him is that he is actually slow, not fast, but works hard.

That's exactly the way I see him as well. Very little pace, but works hard and is strong.
I'm going to go against tide on this one and say that I don't really rate him as good enough for us. He is having a great season, no question about it, but I feel he lacks attributes that make a top top player. His crossing is suspect, he lacks pace and has very little "football brain". On the other hand, he is strong, tries hard and has great shot in him.
I feel that he is playing so well mainly because most teams have had two players covering for Ashley Young this season and defences have to sit deep because of Agbanlahor's pace creating loads of space for Milner to operate in. The way we are going, lot of teams will be having 10 men behidn the ball soon and rely on counter attacks against us and I don't see Milner as a player that would be particularily good in that sort of formation.

like him OK, but he can't get past a lot of other players into Capello's thinking, so there must be something missing.
Maybe a good signing in 2003 but not now
