Today we saw Santa Cruz crumble after a few minutes, Petrov pull up shortly after then, throughout the game, Richards, Bellamy and Zab all feeling their hamstrings.
I find this worrying and would like to know why it happening.

it is possible the change in training regime from hughes to mancini could of led to this. ie hughes being more of a task master then a change up to possibly less intense aerobic work.

I reckon it's Everton's pitch - they've had a load of injuries too ;)

More likely they can't be arsed, having to fight for a favourable result is not what they are used to.

I brought this up a week a little while back. It may be totally unconnected but when I have seen training there seems to be less warm up than usual and actually less physical action now.Inevitable I suppose with more emphasis on tactical stuff but it just made me wonder. It's one thing getting big injuries like Bridge /Lescott but the niggly ones worry me.

But we lost today due to the tactical stuff failing IMO. The players forgot all the patterns and movements that allow us to play the opposition off the park. Some bully boy tactics from the plodders and we cracked under pressure, forgot all the routines we had practised to move the ball.

Considering our fitness coach who is charge of these things has worked for England national side, it shouldn't be about climate at least.
Hard to tell really. Although I wouldn't use RSC as any sort of yardstick. I mean, did he even touch the ball in three minutes he was on the pitch?

It could be just plain old bad luck mate.
Its early doors, but if we weren't in the market for a centre forward, we most certainly should be now with RSC out, Ade in bits and Tevez feeling that twinge in his hamstring.
I like Benji as fourth choice cover but I don't like 4th choice to become 1st choice on a regular basis!

Yes he did, in fact, because I remember him playing a good one-two. Maybe it was contact with the ball that injured him.... that pass came at him pretty hard.....

Agree with that in part but we were lacking as individuals physically & creatively too. Players win most games at the very top level & ours were found wanting today.

Agreed fitness wasn't anything to do with the defeat today. Agreed also it was at least part tactical but also probably team selection. Leaving out the obvious issue of RSC but clearly Robinho was a passenger as was Petrov after a few minutes. Neither seemed up for it and thus contributed little or nothing so playing an in form Everton was always going to be tough.
I don't think the players forgot patterns and movements but with only really 9 men and a strong Everton going in fast and strong it was a copletely different game to the previous few we have won. I think Mancini got it all wrong today but I am sure will have learned a lot from it. Hope so anyway. But I am just a tad worried that he seems to have needed to change tactics in most games so far and today it didn't have any effect? I do hope he gets it right from the start on Tuesday.

Nobody is being 2 faced. We are just trying to understand why so many players seemed to be struggling with niggles.
Maybe read the thread?

Except they have trained outdoor every day they wanted to. But yes it could just be coincidence that a few niggles have come along together.
