I'm not going to let today's performance get me too down.

Sounds just like the arguments the "hughes lickers" used to come out with after a loss!

That's my kind of thread! Me neither. We're also going to get better each season. We cannot be stopped only delayed sometimes.

First piece of post-defeat positivity you've exhibited in two years.

Positivity was something I tried to keep throughout Hughes' reign. I see no need to change that after one defeat under Mancini.

We're more than on target for where I hoped we'd be :-)

On the first of November we were 4th with a game in hand and in the Quarter final of the Carling Cup (which we won). Only 1 defeat.
Ten days later Cook stated that we were "exactly on target".
When did he first talk to Roberto?
I wouldn't be feeling too chipper if I was on the playing or coaching staff

We shouldn't need threads like this to remind ourselves about the exciting time we've been having. Do people really not remember our adventures in previous years?

Just a bad day.. Everton and that fuckin weirdo Moyes treated it like a cup final and wanted it more..Fair enough, we got what we deserved..Its not a fuckin disaster..They only beat us by a our own mistakes..A cheap free kick and a pen...Good teams just bounce back and recover quickly..The only remedy is to go out on Tues and rip the fuckin heart out of them Salford pricks over the road.Game on.

Spot on, the fact the Everton fans acted as if this was there cup final today show's how far we have come in a short time.

Exactly, that's what makes us different from those rag bastards. We have been through much worse than one defeat and sitting in firft place and still in both cups.

Imagine the rags now, sitting in 5th. They cry enough when they are in third. We have humility and respect for football and will know our time will come, and it will ultimately pass as well, but we are on the home straight to a massive amount of success for the first time in a long time.

I'm sitting back and enjoying the ride, and when we do crack it. The big Havana is going to be lit, and a a brandy swigged and a grin as big as they come all over my Chevy Chase.

let the good times roll.

I'm relatively happy. But I have lower expectation than our board.

A few more performances like that which were in the class of last years away form and we will be looking for a new manager in the summer.

Any defeat hurts...but The Spurs and Toffees ones feel like someone has slashed my wrists and applied salt.

However, come Tuesday, we'll draw the curtains, breath in and out and look forward to the Rags. Even if we don't win that one, I know my clubs future is a damn site brighter than the one over the road.

Agree with the spirit of - oh well just get over it - but concerned about all these Toffees treated it like a cup final - wanted it more.... People sound like that is an excuse for us

This is the PL - you need to work incredibly hard - Everton just showed us a level of commitment that we should be able to see in every game - and the scum will see the semi as a way of getting the bragging rights - and shit as they are you can be sure that they will work as hard as Everton did -

I would like to see us show the attitude Everton did
