Not even a return date:

Does anyone know anything specific?

What about Tevez, Petrov and Garrido, all of which were feeling their hamstrings at some point during the game?

we need to get rid of cruz, he was a waste of 17 mil and is a waste of wages. Not because he's not good enough but because he can't stay fit so i say get rid to make space for a new striker that might actually play for us at some point during his contract

BUYING SANTA CRUZ WAS PROBABLY AS BAD AS BUYING BRADBURY BACK IN THE DARK DAYS.
WE ALL KNEW RSC HAD A HORRIFIC INJURY RECORD AND HAD ONLY HAD ONE VERY GOOD SEASON IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER BUT WE STILL SHELLED OUT 17 MILLION.

MADNESS.

They said on ESPN it was his calf again. No idea how long hes going to be out for.
I think the purchase of RSC contributed to the sackin of Hughes and the physios who passed his medical..18mill is alot of fluckin money for someone who can hardly play a game.

if he is out for that long i'm gutted. probably the end of him at MCFC before we really saw what he could bring to the team.

a top-notch striker, but a terrible pair of knees. a shame.

One of the most ridiculous signings since Steve Daley, a complete waste of money. Trouble is, we are stuck with him now as nobody would be daft enough to buy him just have him taking up space in the treatment room.

Dream on.

There is absolutely NO chance of us getting rid of him before his contract runs out. He is on astronomical wages, which no one would pay for him, and we paid such sum that no one is ever going to give even one third of that back to us. Even more stupid than panic purchase of Benjani.

He turns 29 this next summer. If I remember correctly, he was given 4 year deal. Meaning he is 32 when his contract runs out. He played average 17 games a season for Bayern, many of them from the bench, and that was when he was young and in his prime. What we have here is Danny Mills situation and there's fook all we can do about it.

Not true Carl, playing Bradbury was like playing with 10 men, at least RSC being injured means we have 11 on the pitch

Nightmare!

On another note, I wasn't there, but was to talking to someone who was and he said that Adebayor out on the pitch with the players after the game while they were warming down. Hopefully he might be back sooner than we expect.

i'd be happy to just end his contract, give him a few million and get someone else in who can earn the wages he's on, i feel he's done and as you say no one is going to take him off our hands so were just delaying the inevitable by keeping him on when in 3 years time after paying fuck knows how much in wages and probably just as much in medical costs and were not going to renew his contract, either terminate the contract or get him fit (relatively) and take a loss on what we paid

If it's a recurrence of the calf injury rather than the bad knee problem he won't be out for months.

If true that's his World Cup dream down the pan. I feel sorry for the lad as he wants to play and he is just injury prone. It was sheer madness shelling out that kind of money for him with such a record of injuries. He was injured when we bought him and out of action for half of last season.

I think people are right in saying that this and the Lescott over inflation contributed to Hughes going. It was like he had to have them at any costs rather than being able to walk away and say I'm fuck paying that.

He is a good player, but in reality was worth maybe double the £3m Blackburn paid for him.

yeah. true.

Also: Vieira allegedly failed his medical, so let's not get all high and mighty. Managers rate who they rate. i don't rate RSC in the long term, but if he gets fit he can do something as he proved vs Sunderland. He has talent. i just don't think he will matter more than 2 matches a season. Maybe one of those will be a cup final and we'll all eat our words? who knows.

cheers

edit: *learnt* to spell allegedly. alledgedly.

Put him down. That's what they do with racehorses that are crocked isn't it?

Yeah I could understand the anger if his knees went but for a 'new' injury I can't see what the problem is. Just bad luck I reckon.

Always said he was a bad signing thanks to his injury record when we signed him and got fucking slated for it on here people saying I know fuck all about football etc.. I hate to say this but I love the fact I was right on this. Still hate the fact he's sapping up resources from our precious club though. Was never really needed to begin with we could have done better. Blackburn must be fucking kicking themselves now with joy.

I say the club should just right him off for the season and send him to germany or where ever with some specialist to actually get fit and hope he can start afresh next season.

No return date doesn't mean he's out for months it means they don't know yet. Either way, he's proved unfortunately that we can't rely on him so we should sign a striker right now. We can't trust Ade & Benjani's not good enough.

Noticed that Ireland & Vieira are down as 19th. Both fit for rags game?

can we get a refund? I know we have gone over the 28 days, but surely he should be guaranteed for a year!
