There's an ad on TV atm for the RAC.
The first scene is a broken down car pulled onto the hard shoulder.
The next scene also shows a broken down motor but I had to do a double take because I could swear the backdrop is Maine Road.
The shot is as if you were stood at the kerb (old North Stand end) looking south down Maine Rd toward the ginnel at the far end that leads onto Lloyd St.
It could just be me but I've seen it twice now and I'm convinced it's Maine Road.
I even checked the RAC site and they show the start but completely omit the Maine Rd scene?
Am I going fucking mental? Has anyone else seen it? Do I just want it to be Maine Rd when it's probobly somewhere in Glasgow?
Look out for it and please confirm I'm not going mad!
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy!

I berefly saw something that I immediately thought was Maine rd from that position, the ends of the terrace streets etc but I only just caught a very quick glimpse of it so I couldn't figure if I'd imagined it but it must surely be the same advert. Whether it was or not, it really brought back 1000 memories & made my heart sink a little actually.

You may not be as mad as you think Mate...The very 1st shot in the lat-by is on the Princess Parkway Extension in Hulme near to the Land Rover garage. Not that far from Maine Rd...feasable to film it so near.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

I too thought it was Maine Road when I saw it. It looks just like the houses oposite the old ground to me.
Can Svensational confirm this for us please?

doesn't look right to me.
The stadium has gone and anyway would be off to the left. The blue building doesn't mean anything to me.
Says here it was filmed in New Brighton which would explain the seagulls

Nah, it's not right, that building wouldn't be there, nor the stuff on the left.

one scene is definately Salford (0.47 on the 60 second version). It's the Broad street (A57?) junction with Frederick Road. It's not very clear on youtube but on tv you can see Salford Uni on the left.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

I work for the RAC.
Probably be more reliable if you worked for the people that filmed the ad

Its just common knowledge as well really.
Maine Road was knocked down years ago and this is a recently filmed advert. This film was recorded down south.
on the Wirral mostly, but I guess that's south

it's not a stadium, just a blue shed
