Given for me - best in the league - then Carlos. Thought SWP had a good first game back, De Jong and Kompany were both excellent, and Boyata did well considering the occasion.

NDJ, Given, Tevez and Bellers were fucking awesome along with good displays from Komps and Richards.

However, I have gone for given for no other reason than he gives me such a boost knowing that he is there when we screw up. Shay for me, he was immense tonight.

De Jong was sensational. Absolute top dog on the pitch
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

yep. a great buy. overpaid for him? whatever. worth every penny.

tevez, bellamy, kompany and the reborn richards, given, barry all worthy of big praise. thought zab was tough and garrido good, apart from going awol for their jacksy 8 deflection goal.

but the point of benjani still escapes me. sylvinho was a daft signing, he's finished. shame for him, but he can't be going in to games like this.

Very tough to pick from. Given gets it for me. Yes you have to score goals to win BUT you also have to save them and he made a few world class saves.

Tevez amazing, Bellers and De Jong were superb aswell.

De Jong - Loads of telling tackles - really set a high standard.

Pity about the booking but even that was for the team rather than just a silly or unnecessary challenge.

Had to give it to Given, he made 4 or 5 brilliant saves to keep us in it.

Tevez. How could he not get it? Scored two, a constant threat to the rags, ran all over the pitch, and put his heart and all he had into it.

It was close, but Tevez for me. Anybody scores two against the scum is a hero. Nerves of steel for the penalty, and he hit it so friggin hard the net lifted of the ground. I wished Van der Sar had stood his ground and tried to stop it.
