31,000 tickets for the final

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

31,000 tickets for the final

Postby Im_Spartacus » Thu Jan 21, 2010 12:46 pm

Didnt think there would be as much corporate leeching for a "minor" final, however Villa's ticket person has said they have 31,000.

Gonna be a fucking scramble if we get through, so thought I would ask a question albeit premature:

I have more than enough points to get a ticket early doors, but the lad is in his first year as a season ticket holder. Would I have to sacrifice my right to a ticket and hang fire till the points get low enough for me to get two sat together. Given that I believe we have over 30,000 season ticket holders, I worry that we could miss out altogether?

And to answer the question. The ticket office don't even know whats going on yet with points so how will any of us know

Of that 31000 we firstly have to give tickets to our players, staff, sponsors and corporates that will take it down to around 27-27500 and we have around 34000 season ticket holders. I think first year st holders would be very lucky to get one

Is this a discussion forum? Plus I am bored today, sorry.

The question was raised because a 9 year old boy is going to be watching the match next week getting all excited that IF we win, he is gonna be going to Wembley. Nothing wrong with managing the lad's expectations before dropping a bombshell eh?

As psut has answered, it would seem to me that on balance of probabilities 1st yr ST holders may struggle purely based on the number of ST holders we have.

If we were to win, I think it all could be a bit too much

How many of you might shed some tiny tots tears? I reckon I might....I think I was a bit overwhelmed against Gillingham. The tension just being released

I think we should hold the final in the Aztec stadium, surely enough capacity for each and every City fan?

We couldnt get the arrangements for the semi final right, fucked up the UEFA quarter final last year, fucked up last time we went to Wembley. Reckon if we did get through, there will be a lot of people disappointed

31,000 doesn't add up does it, but better than an FA cup final.

However I seem to remember that a lot of those main stand seats at Wembley were sold on block to 'corporates' for the next umpteen years. Half of 'em don't even bother to turn up for the likes of a Carling Cup final, leaving a load of empty seats.

Piss up, brewery etc..

It won't happen. We'll lose the second leg. And even if we get to the final the winning goal will be a 40 yarder by our ex-captain, who will be the stand in captain for the day so he can lift the trophy.

If & when we finally win something, how long do you reckon it will take for the average fans' views to change from an expectation of glorious failure, to one of expectation we will get it right.

honestly. I think I am just hard wired to expect disappointment

I have joked about us winning it but deep down I am 95% sure we'll get knocked out

I can't actually decide whether I'd prefer to go out to the munes in the semi or lose the final. Both make me feel a bit sick.

Irrational fear completely as rationally I know we can progress past united AND win the final but I can't make myself stop thinking of the crushing feeling of failure and the fact that it is imminent

Got a real buzz when the Beeb showed the footage of City bringing the League Cup home in 1976, I was scanning the crowd like mad to see if I could see a 9 year old boy with a face of angel and a dire need of a haircut :)
