Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

This has been gettin on my threepenny bits for ages now.
Every single commentator for all the TV channels, pronounces his name as "Onou ha ha".
The lad's been playing for about 6 years now but they still insist on gettin it wrong.
What's the Bobby Moore?

Kev knows him and his family though

They still can't decide if it's Myka, Mickah or Meeka Richards either. He's an England international, learn his name FFS!!

But why should it be typical mate?
It's their fuclin job to research the names in preparation for each game. If horse race commentators do it, why don't footie commentators do it. They're paid good money so they should be able to do the job proper or get some other fuclers to do it.
These fuclers make my blood boil grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

As a Scandinavian it's hilarious to hear the English pronounciation of Carew - Karooooo.

I think its funny that we make it all up as we go along and when foreigners tell us the correct way we just ignore them and carry on regardless. Long live the British Empire outlook of life ;-)

I think it might well be Karoooo, seeing as his father is Gambian. Not an expert on Gambia, but I'm sure they don't pronounce names like Scandinavians. Carew is quite a Scottish name isn't it?

It certainly isn't a Scandinavian, so in one way you're right. But SI'm fairly certain that he pronounces his name Carew. If not, I (and most other Scandinavians) are just as guilty as the Brittish.

I like that they used to call Flamini "matthew" and it took a spell in Italy before they called him "mattyer".
Mind in my day it used to be reel madrid and Ayjacks that dominated europe

on-oo-a It's simple just like the feckin commentators.
mike-a richards, that's also feckin easy.
They also insist on calling Rosicky rozidski at arsenal. He's even stated himself its fekin Rosicky and it's printed on his shirt to help the cunts out.
And the lad at Liverpool is un-gog not feckin un-go
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
