Cassano [MERGED]

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Well it is one of the two most serious papers in Italy, probably, but to say it is 100% reliable when it comes to football transfers would be exaggerating it. Surely I rate it as more reliable than the "sports only" papers, which have to blow any rumour out of proportion to sell.

A fiery temper could be a good thing too...
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

I had a very disturbing thought just after I started reading this thread,
I'm not proud about saying this,
But,
I reckon,
Cassano,
Could be,
City's,
Cantona

I'm going for a shower. I fell violated.

yeah i'd love the nutter at City, he could be our Di Canio.

Or Cantona (he is half italian after all, as his surname suggests)

Sampdoria director Giuseppe Marotta has warned it will be difficult to hold onto Antonio Cassano as Manchester City's interest increases.

Marotta says the club's intention is to hold on to Cassano, but a cocktail of problems at Bogliasco could lead to an eventual sale.

'Il Talentino' has endured a tough week after being dropped by coach Luigi Del Neri. That was followed up by a muscular injury.

Reports in Italy claim Cassano is ready for an exit as City continue to track him.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria have done little to suggest they are desperate to keep the Bari product on, leading to further speculation.

"Cassano is an excellent player and a professional. Out intention is to keep him for the moment," Marotta told Sportal.it.

Last week's exclusion against Udinese led to belief that Cassano's loyalty with Del Neri has become strained. But Marotta's opinion of their situation is clear. "Cassano and Del Neri's relationship is excellent," he said.

I reckon this is likely to go through as he's injured now and we all now how we like to sign injured players!
