Roma Defender Marco Motta Confirms Manchester City Deal

The youngster has said his farewells to the Giallorossi…

Italian right-back Marco Motta has confirmed that last night’s Coppa Italia clash with Catania was his last appearance for Roma before completing a loan move to English outfit Manchester City.

The 23-year-old was handed a rare starting shirt by Claudio Ranieri at the Olimpico as the Lupi booked their place in the semi-finals of the competition with a 1-0 victory.

But Roma and Udinese, who co-own the former Italy U21 captain, have already agreed to loan him out to Roberto Mancini’s side.

Motta is expected to travel to Eastlands in the coming hours and bid an emotional farewell to the Maggica faithful after yesterday’s encounter.

“I want to thank everyone for these months I spent with the Giallorossi,” he told LaRoma24.it.

And when asked if he had truly made his final appearance for the club, he added: “Thanks again, see you soon…”

How many nicknames can one club have?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Ahahah, a lot. But I think it's common in Italy to have at least two nicknames, for example AC Milan's nicknames are Rossoneri and Diavoli, Juventus' ones are Vecchia Signora and Bianconeri, etc.

one is for the colour of the shirt, one is the nickname. I guess we have sky blues and Citizens and City.

I wonder if we will bring anyone in, looks like Benjani is going though. Strongest rumours at the minute are Boateng, Mariga and Johnson. Can't believe we haven't gone in for Moses but WBA, Newcastle and Forest have.

Havent heard much about this guy but he must be good if Mancini is thinking about buying him/ Loaning him.

And if he is a former under 21 international captain for Italy then he must have been a promising player and he must be a quality payer coming up the ranks.
