Italian right-back Marco Motta has confirmed that last night’s Coppa Italia clash with Catania was his last appearance for Roma before completing a loan move to English outfit Manchester City.
The 23-year-old was handed a rare starting shirt by Claudio Ranieri at the Olimpico as the Lupi booked their place in the semi-finals of the competition with a 1-0 victory.
But Roma and Udinese, who co-own the former Italy U21 captain, have already agreed to loan him out to Roberto Mancini’s side.
Motta is expected to travel to Eastlands in the coming hours and bid an emotional farewell to the Maggica faithful after yesterday’s encounter.
“I want to thank everyone for these months I spent with the Giallorossi,” he told LaRoma24.it.
And when asked if he had truly made his final appearance for the club, he added: “Thanks again, see you soon…”

He played a very good game yesterday, especially in the first half where he was constantly going up and down his flank to support the attack but careful not to leave his position exposed, before being subbed with ten minutes to go to a round of applause from the Olimpico, while Cicinho who came on was "welcomed" on the pitch by boos (which I thought stupid, it's the best way to destroy what little cofidence he still has).
He probably will be in Manchester today to see the derby, and then start training with the team from tomorrow.

Suppose you're the best person to ask...do you think he will do well here?
The question is, is he an improvement on what we've already got?
