So I'm happy ..... 1pt of 4th with 2 games in hand and 8 points of 3rd with 2 games in hand
still looking very good

Anyway.... I thought the cliche in football was a "good team still wins when playing badly"....

That's right mate, ask U***d about that one. Apart from the first 3 under Mancio, we have conceded in every game, despite the very defensive minded approach, including a couple against the likes of Scunthorpe. Everton sussed us out, Rags didn't have a problem, whilst the current teams we are playing just don't have what it takes. Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs will be the real test, and that's for any side, but we'll see how much we have progressed at least.

I beg to differ, they had to resort to a last minute goal to beat us, apart for that the tie was completely balanced.
I've to say I'm amazed about all this moaning, really. Big games are always going to see us give our best, because of the motivations involved, but it's games like today's that can be the proverbial banana skin, still we got a pretty comfortable 2-0 win bouncing back from losing a semifinal derby tie, I really don't see what is there to not be happy about. Ok, the level of play wasn't spectaculer, but it didn't need to be to complete the job, and we did just that.

And, don't you just hate it when teams 'Resort to a last minute goals'?

They put 4 past us, we put 3 past them. Is their defence shite for that? When you meet a strong team, there's always the chance of them putting some goals past you, and let's not forget that we played almost both legs with a teenager in the middle of the defence for lack of alternatives (although he did well, who knows if Toure's experience might have avoided one or two of their goals?)
As fo the other question, I hate it, of course, but to me it is proof that the team played well and only switched off at the end, which is frustrating (especially in a derby) but better than being hammered 4-0.

I don't disagree mate, but again, in the context of the discussion, and in the way we line up, we have been very poor in defence; especially if that's where we are building from.
