Just watched the Arse get mullered by Man U and looking at the table, they are not safe from loosing their top 4 place. We for instance are 8 points behind with two games in hand. The Arse go to Stamford Bridge next week. They must be looking over their shoulders at the chasing pack and becoming slighty worried.

Still to early to worry/think about that yet. Arsenal will come good again, they always do

I said we'd finish 3rd at the start of the season and i'm sticking to my guns. Shame it looks like the arse to miss out and rags stay in top two.

Was thinking this...just been on the barclays website to check the table and we are in a VERY strong position compared to those around us
and with Hull and Bolton the next two games very winnable...we could be looking very good indeed in a couple of weeks

Oh dear. Didn't know that. Not looking good for them right now with a bad defeat today, probable defeat next weekend and the mighty Manchester City pushing from behind! ;o)

Your spot on there Fu.
The press and SS are always going on about the race for that precious 4th spot..I see it more as a fight for 3rd and 4th.
Arsenals defense is as leaky as an old teabag. They are not assured of a chumps league spot atall.
The blues and spuds will be in the mix come end of the season.

We need to get our own house in order but if we can push on on the next couple of wks why not. We have got some really winable games coming our way and if we can start to apply a bit of pressure who knows. Saying that it's been a bizarre season where no one looks like they want to take there chance and open a gap. Going to be very interesting.

Looking at their next 2 fixtures they have Chelsea then Liverpool it aint looking good for them loose to chelsea and draw with liverpool and that will put us right up there for 3rd assuming we beat Hull and Bolton.

3rd place isn't especially magic compared to 4th. At the moment there's a 3 member pack in the running for the title. Arsenal could drop out to make it a 2 horse race. Getting into contention for 3rd place means getting into contention for the title, at least with the table the way it is at present. Obviously, it would be great to make up the gap to be trying to hold onto that group, if we can do it, we might find ourselves settled into 4th place (minimum) with a few games to spare.

Would we not have to play a qualifying game for the chumps league if we are 4th?

Actually it is because gives direct access to the group stages, without having to do the qualifying rounds in August.
