Lee Dixon

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Lee Dixon

Right... so this guy is "supposedly" a City fan... but he annoys the crap out of me on MOTD because he never ever speaks up for City to the point where I ask myself... is he really a City fan? Or is he under some kind of gagging order and not allowed to speak up for them?

Another example on MOTD 2 last night when they showed the table in the end to talk about the title race and the top 4, they only showed the top 5 so Liverpool is in it but although we are level on points with Liverpool and have 2 games in hand they did not include us.

Am I being paranoid here? And why the fuck does Lee Dixon not comment on that?

You arn't wrong. Lee never speaks up for city, sometimes you can see him almost speak up but he never does.

Sadly he is probably the weakest member of the team on MOTD, fence sitting and agreeing. Very frustrating.

I've heard him a few times speak up for us while Lawro was in full rant mode.
He also said that when Seaman signed for us he left him a message on his answer phone singing "Blue moon....."

When he first broke through as a tv pundit, I remember him mentioning he's a blue quite a lot. Maybe he got a bit of a bollocking from the higher ups though, what with the beeb being very strict on being impartial. There are still the occasional mentions of him still loving Arsenal, but being a blue since birth. They just aren't as frequent as they used to be. Doesn't bother me.

Plus, he's not an idiot. He'd be raped up the bum by all and sundry if he just went on tv and didn't shut up about us. And what kind of an image would he projecting if he went on tv and acted like City's own Phil Thompson?

Personally, I'm glad he keeps his trap shut. He's a blue and that's all that matters.

I said more or less the same thing to Svensational and then it dawned on me that they had not showed our game when they were having that discussion, therefore our result was unknown to terrestrial viewers who dont have access to anything but BBC and dont have a teletext television. It was a pathetic time to have the discussion and the BBC are god damn awful, I dont know why I bother watching it, but I do, I need to take a leaf out of KK's book and watch football first instead.

They showed the table before the highlights of our match...so from what I gather it was to prevent people who didn't know what our score was seeing the result before they watched the match

As has been said he's definitely a City fan - I saw him at the ground a week last Tuesday (semi-final day) talkin with some City fans that had stopped him. I could tell he was excited like we were (obviously not as much as he's done it all as a player) and seemed genuinely impressed that I'd just Colin Bell et al in the club shop.

Exactly. Yes it would have been better to have had the discussion after our match but that's definitely why we weren't on the table. Gotta disagree that Lee never speaks up for City, think he has on many occasions and is a top bloke

i feel the same when i see the betfair advert, they say the race for fourth is between spurs and villa and im like are you taking the piss but then think to myself its just an advert its not a dig at us, and there have been a few other really stupid things iv noticed this season along similar lines aswell

He's the best pundit around imo. Great analysis, which I understand isn't always down to him, but he always puts a convincing argument accross.

Just because he's not singing Blue Moon every time he's on the telly doesn't make him a bad man.
