Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

BIIIG Nigee de Jong

Postby ashton287 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 4:21 pm

He is my favourite city player right now (when he turns up), i like the way he just floors people sometimes and i was wondering yesterday why do we not have a song for him, he makes some colossal (<< awesome word) challenges and i think he deserves a bit of recognition from the fans

someone more lyrical then me come up with something please

We have got song for him haven't we?? Although it only involves repeating his surname over and over.
For him to become a City legend though I'm gonna have to see him break someone's leg, preferably G/P Neville, before I can give him that status.

that'll do
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

I love big Nige and always sit wondering why he doesnt really have a song. I sometimes here the De jong, De jong, De Jong, De Jong De Jong from 110 and actually quite like it because it suits the player he is but still dont get why its not sang so often.

More people sing for Benni or Petrov which personally i dont get. Nigel is a beast of a player and i think he would really feed of 40,000 people singing about him. I saw how he lobbed his shirt in 110 after the Chelsea game after a good renditon of Dejong.

IMO i would rather sing a Dejong song than Martin Petrov do do do do do.......

That's the song I always associate with Nige....didn't know the first bits but heard that being sung a few times last season in the run up to Hamburg

Nigel De Jong
Nigel De Jong
He doesn't have a song
He's Nigel De Jong

He's put in some incredible shifts this season yet makes it all look so easy. The League Matches against Arsenal and Chelsea were particularly impressive. Top player and hopefully the recipitent of a great song in due course.

James. Fantastic to see you return. Trust me that you opted out at a brilliant time and missed some painful forum time but honestly i missed your contributions quite a bit. Sorry to hear the cat still going strong but good to have you in situ however infrequent it might be. We have been short in the tractor alliance dept.

Best effort so far.

I'd be actually hilarious to hear that beltd out.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

He reminds me of Avon Barksdale from 'The Wire,' which I realise is a dogshit starting point for a song.

By the way, this is merely an observation and not my attempt at a song.
