Deals can happen in minutes, hell we've been trying for Gago for a month, we probably had most of the deal in place. fingers crossed.

Put through babelfish :O

The Manchester City is on the verge of closing the signing of Fernando Gago in exchange for 16 million Euros. The white set did not want to transfer to him after the exit of Ruud van Nistelrooy, but the good supply of English and the fact to count on more alternatives in the group have caused that Real Madrid is closely together to accept the agreement and to transfer to the Argentinean to the Premier. The British wanted to close the hiring of Kenyan means of the Parma McDonald Mariga, but in the end the Italians did not accede to their sale, reason why they returned to try the signing of Gago and this time the supply has convinced to Real Madrid.

The operation will arrive at good port by the interest to leave Real Madrid declared by the midfield player, that as soon as is counting on opportunities this season and wishes to have minutes not to put in risk its presence in the World-wide one of South Africa with the Albiceleste.

The Argentine midfield player has disputed to five parties of League this campaign, three of them like titling. Gago arrived at Real Madrid in the winter market of season 2006-07 next to HiguaĆn and Marcelo and peculiarly, also will leave the white club in a winter market. With the targets the Argentinean has proclaimed champion of League twice.

Too little too late is my bet.. I can never understand how we can leave deals until the dying seconds. Perhaps its all a game of bluffing and teams trying to force our hands financially. Still we should be commanding a bit more respect now, you dont see the likes of the scum and Chelsea being dicked about until the last minute.

It's not at all uncommon for brinkmanship to rule transfer deadline day - some of these big foreign clubs seem to almost see it as a point of honour.

1738: Real Madrid's Argentine midfielder Fernando Gago is not going to join Manchester City today.

bbc.

Edit: From chrisbevan_bbc on Twitter: "Man City contemplated a loan deal for Argentina midfielder Fernando Gago earlier in the month and spoke to Real Madrid, but in the end focused on other signings."

Some bullshit on bbc

1819: This just in from the at-times cheeky Spanish newspaper Marca: "Real Madrid and Manchester City arrived at an agreement to sign Fernando Gago for 18m Euros, but the English club needed the consent of owner Sheikh Al Mansour and that did not arrive in time for the close of the Premier League curtain at 1700 GMT."
