I think it's a good idea and should be perhaps decided upon by a poll in advance before the match starts. Giving us time to prepare. The Grauniads chalkboard service is very good for basic stats but the qualitative interpretations of the game are not to be found in such statistics and that's why actual comments based on watching the game (even on TV !) should be encouraged.

Howver, I think that those wanting to post entries after the game should really restrict their comments to the nature of the
players review and we should not allow it to disintegrate into the constant bitching we see by some posters on the site, or rather try and avoid any personal dialogs between posters. The latter just gets boring after a while.

I felt the breakdown of Rooneys goal against us last week , proved that it is capable of holding helpful and useful discussions about issues in a game or about a particular even or player.

I for one would welcome it, rather than the mundane and often tedious dialogues that some posters get involved in.

I will put a poll up soon, however, an additional extra might be a ratings system per player. At the moment we do it on a 1-10 for the players team performance on that day. How about we rate on a breakdown of things like

0 Waste of space
1 very bad
2 bad
3 average
4 good
5 very good
6 Excellent

We could apply the ratings to Team Play, passing, tackling, crossing, communication, shooting, heading etc etc

Add away with what you think should be scored?

A good idea and well worth a go.

Most difficult will be deciding on who to scrutinise, and how to ensure one player doesn't keep popping up. Poll seems best way forward.

Also liked the blast-from-the-past-thread you made t'other day with Tiatto and Dunne featured. Could be worth a regular slot? I'd like it anyway.

It's not a bad idea, although watching a single player gets more difficult when you are watching the game on a (often) crap stream, but I guess those who are at the ground could give their input quite well.

Well if you're at the ground & you're watching Shay Given, you could miss a goal at the other end.

Whatever your current pay deal is with Dan and Lee, it should be doubled. You've done a top job over the last few months and I like this new idea. Let's give it a decent shot too, might take a few games for everyone to get into, so don't bin it after one or two games if there's dissenting voices
