VOTE for your City v Hull Analysis Player

Postby Wonderwall » Wed Feb 03, 2010 6:25 pm

Ok ladies and gents, here is your chance to vote for the player you want to have analysed against Hull.

I will put the necessary names and and will allow up to two votes per person, The voting will end the night before the game. In the event of a tie, I will choose the player ;-)

The idea has been discussed in this thread http://www.mancityfans.net/mcfnet/viewtopic.php?f=119&t=30128 and still neeeds some tweaking.

Cheers

Unless Given has a knock, there is not much point, it has to be a starter, however I added so many so I can re-use it in weeks to come.

Ade.

A player who is coming back from a traumatic experience, who was getting some serious discussion before he left for the African Nations.

Yeah, you will be ;-)

PS. Good idea mate. It was a bit of a slog between Ade and Bazza though.

Someone who people will be watching closely anyway is Vieira. I've gone for him.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

I voted Barry. I'm interested in his performance because I didn't see him do anything outstanding until now, but then I watched him play only the games under Mancini.

Voted Barry as it seems he'd be a popular choice and we should try and get this going. Could have chosen any from Ade, Dedryck, Nige, Spangaz, Micah, but we have to start with someone.

Am intrigued by people's views on him, especially him disappearing in games. Personally I think he has played pretty well all season; he's someone who can have a good game and go relatively unnoticed due to his role mopping up bits and pieces, bit part-attack-linking and intelligent positional play. I reckon most of the criticism directed at him is a bit harsh. Although I would like to see a bit more of the 'Villa Barry', breaking late into the box and bagging a few more goals (or am I misremembering this?).

I would like to see Boyata or Barry under the spot light, Barry just doesn't seem to playing anywhere
near as good as I heve expected of late, maybe its down to his instructions, but I remember his villa performances as stand out, and Boyata as I think his distribution has been awful

I agree with how you see it.
Gareth for me aswell.
Although he is not attacking as I would like to see I think he does what he is put there to do pretty well and has been mentioned before he can get us a free kick like Hamman used to. But on the reverse he gives a few away sometimes in dangerous places.
Can we use any stats to make the point?
I know people think that they can limit the story but I feel that they enhance a debate if they can be accepted.

Vieira - it's his debut and a lot of questions were asked by a lot of people when we signed him.

I think Micah is pretty certain to miss this one by the way.

Went for de Jong. He's immense and all over the pitch when we meet strong teams, but sort of goes missing against lesser teams. I'd really like to no where he's going, and what he's up to...

I went for Barry, he seems to have a ttracted a lot of criticism lately, let's see if there is foundation to that.

I went for SWP. Imo he has been a bit suspect lately and would like to hear more opinions after everyone watches him the whole 90.

Setanta Ireland aren't showing a match this weekend for some reason so I'm out :-(

If people are rating players then I'd suggest that using the Guardian Chalkboards to support the analysis might reduce the workload slightly rather than taking your own fallible statistics on stuff that they cover anyway.
