Richards and Onuoha praise for new boy AJ

Adam Johnson is set to re-take the Premier League by storm according to his new teammates Nedum Onuoha and Micah Richards.

The City pair both played alongside the Blues January signing in the England under 21 side and against him at all levels from Academy upwards.

They are unified in their praise of the former Middlesbrough man.

“Whenever we played Boro at whatever level as a defender you were always pleased if Adam’s name wasn’t on the team sheet,” reckoned Nedum.

I suppose you could describe him as an
‘old fashioned’ winger in that he likes
sticking to the touchline but he is hard
to read because he is good with either
foot.
...Onuoha on Adan Johnson

“He is a player capable of controlling games and the step back up to the Premier League will not bother him. He was perhaps a bit unlucky that Stewart Downing was in front of him at Boro.

“Adam will have no problem fitting in here. He is quite a comedian and a really good addition to the dressing room. I can’t believe we now have so many great options in wide positions.”

Micah, too, is happy to be playing with and not against the Blues latest addition. He sees a big long term future for Johnson.

“He is potentially England senior material,” praised the defender whose calf strain will keep him out until the visit from Bolton next Tuesday.

"Adam has a lot of strings to his bow.
He is not just about dribbling but his
delivery is top class and he can score
goals too"
...Richards on Adam Johnson

“It is great that the club has brought in another top English player and I am sure Adam will flourish here. He is a really talented lad who will fit in well with the mentality that we have developed in our dressing room. He certainly gives the manager another great option.”

I loved it on his interview when he said that he wanted to come from the moment he heard of our interest.

That gets him a lot of credit with me

Jesus, it doesn't take much then does it?

I can't think of one player stuck at a shithole like Boro that wouldn't say the same if the richest club in the world came sniffing.
