GARETH BARRY ANALYSIS

Postby Wonderwall » Sat Feb 06, 2010 2:52 pm

Gents, please keep this thread completely about Barry.

Comparisons with other players in the same game are obviously on topic.

Lets hope he has a stormer and scores at least 1 ;-)

Barry is playing well to be fair so far. He has played a good couple of passes and is not spending to much time on the ball which is good.

Supporting the midfield well obviously but could be doing better to help the defense.

is being crowded in midfield by dejong is is providing no protection and marking space hence why our two cbs are booked,,

Please withdraw de jong and leave barry sit and ireland room,

AJ on left bellers on the right,,, and ppl who say this is too attacking are having a laugh because defense is already getting no protection

slow to the ball not reading the game well and no creativity from his passing in my humble opinion

when he gets the ball anywhere on the field the play stops ... too slow in his actions and definitely too slow running.

not very happy about the game at all in a whole

He offers nothing to the team, has been crap for weeks and needs a spell on the bench.

Fair enough if it is true. Whatever the reason we can't keep playing with 10 men.

Empty shirt, we need a midfielder who can control the midfield, his passing is poor, he cant tackle and is easy to steal possesion from. I was happy when we signed him but he isnt doing the business. I believe half our defensive worries have been the fact that we have no midfield, Utd and Chelsea are always solid across the middle, we are not.

Yep f*ck him off for a bit. Have De Jong doing the dirty defensive work, Ireland (maybe) doing the attacking work and two out and out wingers, played on the sides that they are best on.

May I give my analysis on the current Gareth Barry.

He is shite.

Can't give a proper analysis from watching on TV and no-one else can really. I'll only give analysis to these topics if I've watched the game live.

Pile of steaming shite. How's that for an analysis?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Nowhere near what i was expecting, i thought he was a complete midfielder with good vision and would chip in with goals and assists but has been poor since Villa and his corners are a waste of time.

Needs a spell on the bench as he was shite today and hasn't been anywhere near good enough but could well be down to our tactics as we play with no width and no link to strikers.

Overall rating for season so far is a 5 / 10
