Training Monday 8/2

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Mon Feb 08, 2010 1:37 pm

I missed it!!! Poor show I know but I have been away for a few days made the trip back early today in case they trained at 1pm ( rarely have they trained before then of late) only to find them leaving the field at 12.50! Apparently they went out at 12 so less than an hour must have been all they needed.

First person I saw though was Micah working 1 to 1 away from the rest and the few who stayed out a bit longer , namely RSC, Vinnie and Ibrahim with Boyata. I got the impression watching Vinnie that he seemed reasonablly ok and might be under consideration for tomorrow. Just watching his body language when he spoke with Mancini as he left the field made me think he was asking if he would be ok. Knowing VInnie he would have said yes.

RSC was also working late on and 1 to 1 but nothing to tell whether he was ready or not yet. The keepers were also working late and concentrating on crosses from all angles with a limited amount of attacking threat thrown in.

Fences, random training times, it's all a plot!

Dougie...a sincere question.

Do you have a sense if we are training less actual hours under Mancini than we were under Hughes? just curious.

cheers

Did Given come off his line at any point?

Glad to hear Kompany on the mend. Might be time to give Boyata a rest from the firing line.
I must remember to get a new signature.....

Yes Given was coming off his line. Whether he is being told to try harder to dominate his area I wouldn't know but he was working at it.
Trying Vinnie so quickly might be a gamble and with lescott well into training now maybe he is more in line so that Vinnie isn't risked but options are close if not 100% there yet.
