I could not believe he found himself pretty much 1 v 1 against the keeper thanks to the horrible mistake from that Bolton defender.... only to volley it wide instead of controlling it and then getting closer to the goal for a better shot... I know he had 2 defenders around him but fuck me who could have done more with that...

Top, top finish - reminded me a little of the Pompey goal.

Typical Adebayor performance, goes missing quite a lot but is pure quality when required.

Adebayor workd the line well and was a target man for the long balls, movement was good also. Gave the ball away too easily on too many occasions for me. Tevez and Ade need to play closer together for the quick one two's, as the moment they are too far apart.
Adebayor panicked and screwed up a good chance when he could have been 1 v 1 on the keeper. However his goal was fantastic control and technique to smash it past Jaaskeleinen (sp)

Dog turd for 89 minutes and then goes on puts away one of the finishes of the season.
That's why pay him his hefty wages.

Thats the art of being a striker though KK always in the right place at the right time and finnishing it off.

I know mate, I wasn't criticising him. Goater was one of my all time favourite City players so I understand this type of player.

Yeah I agree, not impressed for most of the game especially with the balls he lost, but what a goal.

his goal was exceptional.. quality lofted ball from Vieira.
Ade i thought was quite ok today.. with respect to the general performance around him. He seems to be tracking back and getting a tackle in now and again. Some good passes to Tevez nr the box ( that Carlos couldn't make the most of unfortunately ).
so in resumen, he seems to be working a bit harder, holds up well, some good lay offs etc.
He is obviously a fairly intelligent player that can play all over the pitch, and slowly but surely he is linking with Tevez a bit better. The key thing with Ade is the level of commitment, he showed against the Gooners what he is capable of.. the manager needs to find a way of getting him as close to that as possible for games where it is not so personal.
Tonight Ade was no worse than the rest of the team.. some nice passages of play in between the stodge.

That finish did not belong in that game.

Ran a lot without being Tevez or Bellamy, got down the channels well but probably would have liked him to get in the box faster and look for tap-ins (at least some of the time). On the break, I saw him make somewhat astonishingly fast runs outside but really they just took him further from the goal and into other's space. Especially pertinent when he wasn't doing it for midfielders about to get into the box.
Few mix-ups on passes and was caught offside stupidly a few times. Caused them lots of problems though and fantastic play for the goal. He's playing well but we're seeing flashes of someone who could be on a whole different level, no point in being impatient though.

Pretty much the Ade i've come to expect. Touches of brilliance, great goal, solid hold up and link play and then theres the loose touches, poor passing, offsides and tendancy to drift to the right side and out of the game.
He will be building confidence though and the partnership with Tevez will only get better.

WORKRATE 8/10
Did an awful lot of running today, much more than in previous games. Ran the keeper down Tevez style and chased the ball between defenders. Quite impressive and not his usual lazy self. Held the ball up so-so today, he needs to improve on this.
TEAMWORK 5/10
Doesn't look part of the team at times as he is so isolated up front with our now infamous 7-0-3 formation. He isn't clicking with Tevez at all and I doubt this partnership will ever produce a Shearer and Sutton type relationship. Tevez drops deep, Adebayor goes wide, at most times during the game they were often more than 50 yards apart from each other.
HEADING 4/10
For such a big lad he doesn't put his weight around and Knight bosses him around in the air and he didn't look too happy dealing with the high ball up to him. Far more interested in running onto balls or having it feed to feet.
PASSING 6/10
When he got the ball he'd often find another man tonight with a nice simple layoff. It takes him an age to get the ball under control though and its often passed without much consideration.
FINISHING 8/10
Messed up in the first half but he's a striker of pure quality when it comes to shooting in the box. Awesome finish in the second half from a wonderful chest control. He is just like Goater, doesn't do that much but will get a goal every other game.
TACKLING 5/10
Didn't get many in today but was fighting for the cause with his running around after the ball.
POSITIONING 3/10
Adebayor's biggest weakness. He has this desire to race out the wings when we attack. I counted three times this evening that he ran out to the right wing and got in Johnson's way. Johnson was doing fine on his own and would have much preferred Adebayor in the box for him to aim at rather than running into his path. He seemed to become a bit more disciplined and stayed in the centre in the second half but I think his was because we didn't run the ball down the wings as much as Bolton took control of the midfield.
OVERALL RATING 7/10
He's paid to score goals and he did just that.
