Probably the best home debut since ali bernarbia. Really impressed by him tonight. Just hope he can keep it up when a few fullbacks have done their homework on him.

Him and weiss could be a tantalising prospect in a few years. Just need to get RSC fit to head them in.

Think he had a great game and looks like a top signing. Looks like he has a footballing brain and seemed to make a few mature decisions during the game you would not expect a player with his experience to make. Good stuff!

There's never been any doubt in my mind about his ability but the encouraging thing was that he produced some of it on debut & didn't suffer from nerves. It's only one game but if he keeps up that mentality, he'll be a star & Robinho will be a fart trapped in a history book.

I must confess i knew fuck-all about him beforehand but was very impressed indeed with his debut last night. Skillful with both feet and very tricky on the wing. Great signing by the looks of it.

He talked about that in his interview on signing, he was desperate to play against us despite carrying an injury and although it now means that he's cup tied he was still happy that he'd done it as it ultimately helped him get the move.

A shame for us but another point that all the team selection moaners should consider before flapping their traps

I always thought he was better than Downing even when he'd just come into the Boro side.

Some Boro muppet on SKYtext said he 'wouldn't step up to the Premier' when we bought him. LOL.

What a home debut from Jinky.

I was absolutely over the moon when we signed him and the lad hasn't let me down.

If he keeps up that level of performance week in, week out for us, i think he's got a real shout of making capellos world cup squad!

He was absolute star in our win against Villa.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Beat Villa 4-1 in September 2003. Elk hat trick and a Tarnat free kick up there with Garrido's against Liverpool. McManaman had an awesome debut. He was involved in everything.

Actually without meaning to be insulting, Johnson's play was not unlike Macmanamanaman on one of his rare good days at Liverpool.

Yeah best debut since Macmanaman - he was electric that day.

Although Shay Given's debut was something else as well.
