City boss is Roberto Man3ini
ROBERTO MANCINI is to net a £9million three-year contract extension from Manchester City's wealthy owners.
The Italian signed an initial £1.5m six-month deal when he succeeded Mark Hughes in December.
But owner Sheikh Mansour and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak believe they have seen enough to give the ex-Inter boss more time even if they fail to clinch a top-four spot this term.
There was a clause to extend to 2013 if both parties agreed and his new deal will start in May.
A pay-off, believed to be £3m, will be triggered whether he is sacked next season or three years down the line.
Mancini has so far refused to buy a house or move his family to Manchester due to the uncertainty over his future but now he will be expected to do that. Sun

Mancini confirmed last week in a televised interview that he has signed a 3 & 1/2 year deal. Not a 6 month with an option of 3 years. He also stated he is letting his children finish the school year before moving them over.
