A bit off topic, but who'd go to the semi's if we made it? I have always said that I wouldn't go to Wembley unless it was us in the final, yet the semi's are played there!

Short term v Long term.
Short term, I can understand trophy starved Blues wanting City to lift that 1st major trophy of their lifetime. Plus the added pleasure of seeing that banner at the swamp taken down.
In the long term, A CL qualification will reap more benefits. The club will have some bait, apart from money, to attract some of those World class p[layers that can take us to more and higher success in the future. A CL qualification also gives us a higher profile around the football and business Worlds, with all the marketting and turnover benefits.

Personally I want both and think we can get both.

we might have an easier oppoortunity this year though, i mean if we get CL next year we are gonna have a lot on our plate and the FA cup as well as CL final and stay in the top4 might be a bit too much next year! If we have ambitions to 'do doubles' might as well start practicing now. 2 things to focus on aint that bad for an up and coming team

2 positives form a dire performance...
1. if we were going to play that lethargically then at least it was at home and perhaps the main reason we didnt lose, so getting away with it while getting a kick up the arse.
2. we are still in it
and perhaps one more little one.. no need to change the thread title!

Guess you are going to have to change that to Three games now and the priority has changed for me...I'm just glad we have broken through the magic 40 point barrier, the stoke game is important because we might just win the battle for mid table mediocrity....again

Winning the cup would be a huge mental boost for the team. Getting the 4th spot would mean CL - a road for a select few clubs around Europe. Personally i would rate the second alternative higher than winning the cup - although I would have as much focus on winning the cup as I would try for 4th spot. We have a good sized squad, we ought to be able to try and go for both targets.

Silverware and CL - that would be nice!

But... after watching our performance vs Stoke today, the team really need to step on the gas if we are to win on tuesday. Bridge was class today. The final passes and the finishing where below par, to say the least. We should have buried them this saturday.
