The new manager has been in the job less than two months and already the knives are out, he has had to contend with a dreadful injury/absence list, learning a new language, getting to grips with a new and different league and a team who had forgotten how to win a game of football. .

Go back a bit further from your listed games, we started the season with W,W,W,W,W,L,W,W which was then followed by a dire sequence of D,D,D,W,D,D,D,W,W,D,L,W. With the possible exception of the Chelsea game (surprise surprise we can get motivated for the big games) we were pretty unconvincing and continually gave soft goals away and there was nothing in Hughe's last game in charge that suggested that would change.

It's easier to get the crowd 'up' for a game v Liverpool than v a Stoke or Bolton & a similar attacking start to the Stoke game would set the scene for a bit of a mauling of the scousers imo.

As regards his future, I've just got the feeling that Mancini has only been brought in as a transitional phase between Hughes & an attempt to get Mourinho. It's only my opinion but if Hughes had got top 4 he'd be almost unsackable wheras the fact that Mancini is on this strange contract thing means that they can do an Avram Grant with him even if he gets top 4 & no one here will give a shit when Mourinho waltzes through the doors as Mancini's an Italian legend & not a Brit one. I think ,if he wants the job, Mourinho will get it, otherwise Mancini will get a chance. I hope he does.
