Is he our new 'Super Hero'....just worried that things could get a little tetchy with Superman already on the pitch ;-)
Hoping our new rollercoaster gives us the thrill of our lives.

Just realised he looks fair few pounds overweight.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

i'm never confident with him at centre back. lacks communication. Wenger seems to be on the money every time when it comes to selling players.

Arsenal have not missed him or Ade, and are £39m richer from it.

If only we had bought Vermaelen. Him and Kompany would be a mean partnership.

I'm willing to give him a chance.
But some of the performances he keeps having are very poor.
He is hardly captain material when he puts in such nervous performances like he has been doing an awful lot.
Don't get me wrong.
I'd love to put on the blue shirt and play for city.
But doing so, i would be a nervous wreck at times lol.
I reckon he's feeling the pressure?
But Arsenal fans were saying this is what he is like lol.
We should give the captaincy to Kompany (when fit) imo.
He plays every game like a captain.
Barry might relish the captaincy?
But he's another who needs a break for a game or 2?
Kompany is young, so it might be too much for Kompany atm.]
But Toure???
I think he needs a time out if I'm honest.
Very poor at the moment.

Can't really give an opinion, although I knew we were supposed to be watching him tonight. A non entity for me. Didn't turn up tonight. Didn't see anything from him to criticise , good or bad , positive or negative. Just nothing. Is that what a captain should be ?

offers nowt as a captain. if mancini is going to insist on playing barry and de jong all the time, one of them should be captain. either would be better than toure.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

Don't really rate him as captain.

I think there are two MUCH better candidates in Nigel de Jong and Vincent Kompany (who i actually think should be our first choice centre half with Lescott)

As a center half I thought he did ok but nothing more. He defended reasonably well , got his head on a few was generally in the right place at the right time.Lets face it if you play badly at the centre of defence against Stoke the way they bomb the ball in and without a goalkeeper who commands his area you will get beaten.

I suppose the question is what do you expect from him? He is not the commanding header of the ball who winds basically everything like say a Vidic but he is the sort to feed off and around such a player and last night I thought he did it OK around Lescott who was more commanding in the air.

As a captain he is quiet and for me that's a negative. I accept he doesnt need to be a ranter and raver but I think a captain should be more visible in the way he organises his defence and where necessary has a go at players who need it. Maybe he does it all but in a quiet way because Mancini does seem to like him not just in the team but as captain. Does he lead by example enough? I like it when he brings the ball out of defence and gives a lead that way and when he go to the byline I was impressed( shame it was a crap cross)When he is on his game it does show that he reads the game very well but overall I don't think he is our best natural captain.

Yeah or Kit Symons maybe, Spencer Prior?

Someone on here was doing the rosy specs about Dunne and Distin this week, just before the latter's monumental cock-up in the WAFFA game (he got away with an earlier one in that match). LOL

Every time I watch Dunnie pass the ball straight into touch for Villa it brings back all those great memories (mainly of cock-ups).

There's a reason neither has ever been signed by a top four team - you just have to work it out!

Well in a performance where no one stood out I thought he was quite solid - I think most were assessing him looking for faults to report and that there were not any really cannot be too bad - CBs are not supposed to 'stand out' - thought Lescott was OK as well and took some hope that a partnership can be forged there - they have not played that much together recently

So last night was 'OK'

(although I have other issues re captaincy - heading ability etc - but that is a different topic I think)

My 1st choice as captain would be De Jong. I might go with Ireland as well - he needs to come forth for the team.

Kolo seems far too silent. Dont care about him being a nervous wreck - that'll just keep him on the edge. But you have to communicate at great lengths, both visionally and verbally. I like our little terrier - De Jong.
