I really do not want us in this also-rans comp next year - if it is not good enough for the Sky 4 -it is not good enough for us - I know that lots will take issue with that - and I cannot believe I am saying this - but for the Sheik's commitment - we need CL and not a consolation prize

Me neither, but only from a financial point of view.

From a competition point of view, this year there are a lot of clubs of the same stature as us in the pot right now who I would consider to be good standard of competition.

Madrid, Liverpool, Hamburg, PSV, Ajax, Juventus, Galatasary, Marseille, Werder Bremen, Fenerbahce, Valencia, Villareal, Roma, Panathaniakos

I think I said the other day that it would be no disaster for us to get to the group stages of champs league, finish 3rd to get the dosh and the experience, then have a tilt at winning the Europa league

Werder created most of the 1st half, had 3-4 great chances.... and got the 1-0 out of the first shot on target from twente.....
We will see what we get out of the second half...
Yes, great atmosphere, when I could trust german TV, most of it from the away fans....

We really don´t miss Diego (even with his performance for Juve so far) as we got three young guys in midfield, who are by far better than him as they are three and so by far more dangerous for the counterparts as just one player. Bargfrede, Özil and Marin are the names to watch for.

Yes I've seen Özil a couple of times now for your team. The lad looks quite useful.

Özil is abit weird at the moment.
werder made a bit to extend his contract (now til ´11 I think) and he cancelled all talk about it for 6-8 weeks now, since then he´s playing awful (and tired me thinks). We will se if he´s after the money or wants to grow up with a european top club....

Unbelievable we didn´t score there so far, isn´t it?

The only one I don't know is this Bargfrede guy, never heard of him.

Since you watch Bundesliga regularly, is Toni Kroos any good? I've heard good things of him, but I knew barely nothing of the guy.

Bargfrede(son of a former St.Pauli+Werdere player) is a young guy, bought for our second team in the last summer, who got a big breakthrough in early stages of the season (and now injured). But one to watch out for, attacking midfielder who is able to score from outside the box. Very refreshing!

Tony Kroos is a good one, on loan to Bundesliga leader Leverkusen (from bayern Munich) . Munich wants him back in the next summer, speaks for itself, i think. He has a great part in Leverkusen becoming leader in Germany at the moment.

Yeah, but it's a good game though , both seem to be up for it.

Watching werder is so often similar to watching City.....

You play 70% in the half of the home team, you have 4-5 100% goal chances, you don´t score and you get a goal out of nothing. After that the home team defends very clever and you are not able to get back into the game....

I´m not surprised....

And for Dazby, I ´ve got a 5l draft of Maisel weizen Beer to do..... ;-)
