Tevez back for Sunday?

Postby Kiss_The_Goat » Fri Feb 19, 2010 3:31 am

Something to make you miserable lot smile...

Manchester City remain hopeful that Carlos Tevez will be back in time to play in Sunday's clash with Liverpool.

The Argentine striker may now return from Buenos Aires on Firday, after being given as much time as he needs to spend with his new baby daughter Katie, who was born prematurely at the weekend.

As late as Tuesday night, Blues manager Roberto Mancini was hopeful that his leading scorer would return on Wednesday - but added that it may be as late as Friday before he comes back.

One report in Argentina suggested that Tevez has been training during his stay in Buenos Aires, using programmes devised for him by City's staff and under the guidance of Argentina's team doctor Donato Villani.

gutted we're missing out on player of the season in our biggest match of the season. I'd assume, sadly, that it must be touch and go with the kid or else he wouldn't even consider it. My heart goes out to him and his family.

Good luck Carlitos!

What a shitter that is.

Ah well, can't be helped. At least the fact that he's coming back at all means that that his kid will probably be ok so that's good news.

Mancini on OS video (press conference) advises Tevez definitely not back for Sunday and actually said he didn't know how long he was gonna be missing. Not good news in regards trying to win on Sunday - we really need Bellers to play as he's the one we need to get everyone firing.

Didn't he do something similar for the league game at The Swamp? Was supposedly injured?
